Since 1941, the USO has strengthened America's military service members by keeping them connected to family, home and country, throughout their service to the nation. We currently operate more than 250 USO centers at or near military installations, including in combat zones, MEPS centers, several airports, and even un-staffed USO service sites in places too dangerous for anyone but combat troops to occupy. The Director, Corporate Alliances is responsible for the execution of strategies to drive long term value and revenue generation with existing corporate partners in support of USO programs and services. Position may lead, manage and mentor junior level reports.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential Duties)

Evaluate and recommend strategies and activities that meet the needs of existing corporate partners in the designated region to maximize revenue, meeting and/or exceeding established annual goals.*
Manage and grow a portfolio of existing corporate partners to meet short and long-term revenue targets. *
Routinely engage with regional leadership to share the team’s overall fundraising performance, and enhance partner relationships through regional boards and other spheres of influence.*
Manage all stages of corporate development, including but not limited to proposal development, presentation, solicitation, contract execution and fulfillment for all assigned corporate accounts.*
Review corporate development contract proposals and agreements, ensuring that all terms and conditions are clearly defined, understood, and approved prior to execution.*
Ensure that all corporate contact lists, actions, proposals, and activities are promptly recorded in the fundraising software database.*
Perform assigned duties in the absence of the Vice President, Corporate Alliances.
Position may lead, manage, and mentor junior level reports.

Job Specifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
10+ years work experience in fundraising/development role, including 5+ years in a supervisory capacity if the position manages staff. Relevant experience in a non-profit, military, multicultural and/or global organization preferred.
In-depth knowledge of corporate development strategies and processes.
Ability to achieve desired results while working collaboratively in a team environment.
Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills. Ability to interact with USO Leadership, the general public and military audiences at a variety of levels with integrity and professionalism.
Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment related to controversial and/or culturally sensitive subjects. Ability to handle confidential information with tact and poise.
Working knowledge of basic business and accounting functions including project management and budgeting.
Demonstrated initiative/self-motivation, with the ability to quickly and easily adapt to changing organizational needs.
Proficiency using computers and electronics equipment. Working knowledge of various software, applications, and programs including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with Raiser’s Edge preferred.
Ability to obtain and maintain proper credentials necessary to access USO Center locations and facilities including but not limited to security, credit and/or background screening, SOFA status, valid driver’s license.
Must be a strong advocate of the USO’s mission.
