As part of our ongoing mission to make tax filing accessible to all, we are expanding into a new market segment. The Self Employed team is spearheading the development of a dedicated product line tailored to the 15% of tax filers in Germany who are self-employed—a segment that Taxfix has yet to support. By addressing the unique tax challenges faced by freelancers, gig workers, and small business owners, we are unlocking new opportunities to simplify and optimize the tax filing experience.

Your challenge:

As our Senior Software Engineer within the Self Employed team, you'll play a pivotal role in developing key features for our flagship product, ensuring high performance, scalability, and adherence to best practices. you’ll be involved in crafting testing strategies and ensuring performant user experiences within a cross-functional team setup. Your responsibilities:

Collaborating with product management to work towards achieving the company’s and team’s goals.
Contribute to technical direction and strategy to further the long-term product vision.
Work on unblocking unique frontend challenges our product teams are facing to improve development speed and the user experience.
Create a great developer experience through good tools and practices that empower seamless delivery.
Be part of cross-functional teams, working closely with other platform and product teams.
Be involved in key product decisions and work closely with the whole team to create intuitive and reliable apps.
Mentor other engineers and support an environment that values development, growth, and a safe environment to raise challenges.

Your profile:

+3 years experience with React (ideally React Native) on the Frontend
+3 years of experience with node.js on Backend
Exposure to public Cloud Environment (Google Cloud, AWS or MS Azure)
Familiarity with DevOps tools and concepts (ideally GitHub Actions)
Familiarity with backend concepts and technologies (authentication systems, databases, cloud)
Experience building solid scalable services and well structured front-end applications
Experience with integrating with diverse APIs
Passionate about writing maintainable and elegant code.
A pragmatic person with a strong positive attitude.
