As a catastrophe analyst, mid or senior, you’ll work on a team in the Catastrophe Modeling Research & Development (R&D) department that maintains, monitors, analyzes, and reports on catastrophe peril, risk, reinsurance, and financial metrics. In this role, you'll use and execute vendor catastrophe models covering perils such as hurricanes, wildfires, winter storms, severe convective storms, earthquakes, and flooding for the residential and commercial property business. You’ll also maintain the SQL exposure data environment for catastrophe modeling purposes, including developing and upholding data cleaning and storage best practices. You'll provide regular reporting and ad-hoc analysis support to various business units, including Product Management, Research & Development, Pricing, Claims, and Underwriting. Additionally, you’ll use tools such as geocoding, geospatial, and data visualization software while collaborating with other team members and analysts.

Must-have Qualifications

  • A minimum of four years of analytical work experience
  • {OR} Bachelor's degree or higher and a minimum of three years of analytical work experience
  • {OR} Bachelor's degree or higher in a quantitative field of study and a minimum of one year of analytical work experience
  • This position requires online pre-employment testing for external candidates.

Preferred Skills

  • Proficient in software such as SQL, R, or Python
  • Familiarity with geospatial tools and geocoding software like Tableau, ArcGIS, or Spatial Key
  • Experience with industry-leading catastrophe modeling software such as AIR, KCC, or RMS

Compensation

  • $65,500-$105,600/year
  • Gainshare annual cash incentive up to 24-30% of your eligible earnings based on company performance
