Job description

Location Details: Tempe

At GoDaddy the future of work looks different for each team. Some teams work in the office full-time, others have a hybrid arrangement (they work remotely some days and in the office some days) and some work entirely remotely.

This position may be a hybrid or fully remote position, as decided by your manager. If designated as hybrid, you’ll divide your time between working remotely from your home and an office location, so you should live within commuting distance. If designated as remote, you’ll be working remotely from your home and may occasionally visit a GoDaddy office to meet with your team for events or meetings. Your hiring manager can share more about this role’s hybrid or remote designation.

This position is not eligible to be performed in Alaska, Mississippi, North Dakota, or the Virgin Islands.

Join our team

At GoDaddy, we have an amazing opportunity for a Fraud Detection Analyst to join our team! You will be part of a team responsible for reviewing customer accounts to determine the validity and authorization of the payment method in order to reduce losses to the company.

Our fraud department operates 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. Candidates must have weekend availability and be available to work evening shifts from 4PM to midnight.

What you'll get to do...

  • Analyze customer accounts to resolve if fraudulent payment activity is present. The Fraud Detection Analyst researches possible fraudulent order activity of on-line purchases. There are numerous reasons on-line orders might be considered fraudulent. Fraud Detection Analysts are required to know the path to uncover questionable orders as quickly as possible. The goal of this department is to provide timely service to customers while controlling losses to the company
  • Work through the queue of on-line orders to verify that the information provided on the order matches the real customer; i.e. verifying, original email address, IP address, shipping address and the nature of the order
  • Make outbound calls to customers to resolve if fraudulent payment activity is present. Receive inbound calls from customers either validating or confirming fraud on the purchase
  • Communicate via IRIS with customers and third parties
  • Review customer documentation for signs of alteration and resolve if more documentation is needed from the customer to validate the purchase
  • Review third party requests for reported fraud or abuse issues
  • Comprehend the numerous reasons as to why an order might be tagged as possible fraud, such as: items ordered, dollar amount, mismatched IP, etc. Each order is different, yet a decision on how to proceed needs to be made quickly
Your experience should include...
  • 3+ years of experience in fraud detection
  • Ability to think independently and critically while making tough decisions with little supervision and applying learned material, policy, and procedures to abstract scenarios
  • Proficiency in internet research and performing advanced web-based searches. Candidates should be able to quickly absorb information from searches and make correlations based on that information
  • Understanding of procedures, systems, and tools to identify fraud trends and report these trends immediately
  • Problem-solving ability, very detail oriented skills, an outstanding attendance record and excellent written and verbal communication skills

You might also have....

  • Prior fraud detection or banking experience a plus
