Staff Product Designer, Privacy & Data Security

We are currently seeking a Staff Product Designer for our Privacy & Data Security product, which helps customers comply with global regulations and standards (e.g. GDPR, ISO 42001, NIST, EU AI Act) while strengthening their data security posture. You’ll design features that integrate privacy workflows, AI governance, and data security into Vanta’s platform, improving key frameworks and broadening Vanta’s addressable market. 

You will work together with your team to deliver a high quality user experience designed to give customers the confidence that they can remain secure and compliant in a technology space that is rapidly evolving around them. You will focus on boosting user efficiency, automating time-consuming workflows, and providing proactive insights and reports. You will learn directly from customers, explore AI and new technologies, and build new product features from the ground up.

As our first Design hire in London, you will play a key role in establishing our product design presence in Europe. You'll partner with Product Management, Product Marketing, and your growing Engineering team to drive the discovery and development of privacy features that expand Vanta’s value for its customers. Your work will accelerate product development and create a consistent customer experience for all of our customer segments.

Ideal candidates have a proven track record of creating exceptional B2B SaaS products that deliver impactful customer experiences while streamlining complex workflows. You thrive in ambiguous and complex environments, using autonomy to drive innovation and improve ease of use for knowledge management and workflow automation. While experience in GRC or security is a plus, it’s not required—many of our team members have excelled without prior industry experience.

Our role is vital to the company’s strategic direction, and you will have a significant impact on our product development. 

You will report to a Design Director within the Experience Design Organization.

What you’ll do as a Staff Product Designer at Vanta:

• Lead the design and execution of strategic projects that deliver substantial customer value and impact multiple departments.

• Conduct customer discovery to inform product strategy, helping to craft compelling narratives that support the vision and objectives.

• Identify and lead design-driven initiatives with organization-wide impact.

• Enhance the influence of the Design organization by working openly, sharing customer insights, communicating design solutions, and improving the ways we work.

• Mentor other designers, helping to refine concepts and elevate design quality.

• Contribute to and refine our design system to ensure it aligns with strategic goals while maintaining consistent, high-quality design standards.

How to be successful in this role:

• 8-10+ years of experience delivering high-quality B2B SaaS products on large-scale projects.

• Demonstrated track record of maintaining high executional quality and organizational impact.

• Independent in driving discovery processes and leveraging customer insights to inform product strategy and define design directions.

• Skilled in leading the design process from ambiguity to concept and execution for entire product areas.

• Strong ability to mentor and influence others, including senior and executive management teams.

• Comfortable navigating ambiguity and complex problem-solving.

• Proven success in driving design strategy, systemic thinking, and strong product sensibility.

• Excellent communication skills, capable of clearly articulating design concepts to diverse audiences.

• Proficient in managing complex projects, timelines, and proactive escalation handling.

• Portfolio required, showcasing consumer-grade craftsmanship and effective product solutions tailored to customer needs.
