DoD SkillBridge Internship: Human Resources Assistant
SkillBridge Host Company: Uptima
SkillBridge Provider: Vets2PM LLC
Location: Remote

Compensation (if hired after the internship): $52K - $72K depending on knowledge, skills, and abilities. This is an estimate.

Summary:  
The HR Assistant will provide comprehensive administrative, operational and project support to the Human Resources department at Uptima, ensuring efficient and effective execution of HR initiatives and daily operations. This role will involve close collaboration with the HR team and various departments across the organization.


Training:
  • You will receive training in: HR, Operations, Employee Relations, SaaS Company, Payroll, Onboarding, Engagement, Culture during OJT.
  • You will receive the aPHR Certification training and exam fee (one voucher) as part of this internship.


Responsibilities:
●  Project Coordination:
○  Assist in the planning, implementation, and tracking of HR projects and initiatives.
○  Coordinate logistics for HR events, training sessions, and onboarding activities.
○  Gather and analyze data to support project decision-making.
○  Prepare presentations, reports, and other project documentation.

●  HR Administration:
○  Maintain accurate employee records and files, both electronically and physically.
○  Administer HR programs, including benefits, leave, and compensation.
○  Assist with the onboarding process for new hires, including orientation and paperwork.
○  Conduct background checks and employment verifications.
○  Ensure compliance with employment eligibility requirements through I-9 and E-Verify processes.
○  Respond to employee inquiries and requests in a timely and professional manner.
○  Provide support for payroll processing and benefits administration.
○  Assist with the development and maintenance of HR policies and procedures. Communicate consistently with all employees regarding benefits, company policies, and procedures.


Qualifications:
●  Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or a related field.
●  Proven experience in an administrative, operations or project support role, preferably within HR.
●  Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
●  Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
●  Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems.
●  Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
●  Positive attitude, team player, and a willingness to learn and grow.

Not all internships include certification training by Vets2PM, as many host companies include their own internship-focused training instead.
