Overview
The SAP BTP RAP Consultant plays a critical role in the implementation and optimization of the SAP Business Technology Platform with a special focus on the RAP (Rapid Application Programming) model. This position is vital for organizations looking to leverage SAP's advanced technologies to streamline their processes and improve efficiency. As a subject matter expert, the SAP BTP RAP Consultant collaborates closely with stakeholders to design, develop, and maintain applications that meet both business and technical requirements. The consultant must understand the nuances of integrating custom solutions with existing SAP landscapes, ensuring data integrity, security, and performance. By implementing best practices and innovative solutions within the SAP ecosystem, this role directly contributes to driving digital transformation and enhancing operational capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement solutions using SAP BTP's RAP model.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and define requirements.
- Create and maintain technical documentation for applications developed.
- Develop custom applications and services with ABAP and other relevant technologies.
- Implement data models and integration approaches in line with best practices.
- Conduct performance tuning of existing applications to enhance user experience.
- Provide technical support during the application life cycle.
- Assist in the deployment and configuration of SAP BTP solutions.
- Conduct workshops and training for end-users and stakeholders.
- Stay updated on SAP BTP enhancements and industry trends.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure coherent project execution.
- Participate in problem-solving and resolution of production issues.
- Develop and implement best practices for coding and application development.
- Ensure compliance with organizational and SAP governance standards.
- Review and assess existing applications for modernization opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in SAP BTP development.
- Proficient in the SAP RAP model and related technologies.
- Strong experience in ABAP programming language.
- Understanding of cloud-based development and integration patterns.
- Experience with Fiori UI5 and SAP Gateway concepts.
- Knowledge of data modeling and architecture in SAP.
- Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
- Proven track record of successful project delivery.
- Experience in developing technical specifications and documentation.
- Knowledge of industry best practices in application development.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Certifications in SAP BTP or related areas are a plus.
