Founded on the 12th of May, 2010 by Varun Shrivastava, an IIT Kharagpur Graduate, along with his young engineer friends, UPAY has been on a mission to make quality education easily accessible to the remotest villages of India. On 19th September 2011, UPAY got registered under the Society Registration Act as an NGO.
Our journey began with three members and one center, catering to 20 children. Currently, we have a total of 40 centers across the country which includes 32 Learning Centers, 6 Skill Development Centers, and 2 libraries. It has expanded from 20 children to more than 10000 children & 380 volunteers.
The success story of UPAY speaks volumes about the transformative power of education. We have witnessed children who were once unable to perform basic arithmetic calculations now excelling academically and bringing pride to their underprivileged areas.
One of the key aspects that set UPAY apart is our sustainable model. As our students graduate and pursue higher education, they give back to their communities by becoming teachers for the underprivileged children in their villages. This "Education for Education" and "Educate & get Educated" approach not only empowers our students but also creates a self-sustaining cycle of education and progress.

UPAY strives to make education for all increasingly accessible with its two major prongs –Footpathshaala and Reach and Teach. Children are taught through open classroom programs using various recreational and skill developmental activities with the vision of a world where education is no longer a distant dream for every child.
UPAY is the product of a passionate young IIT Kharagpur graduate wishing to change the life of every Indian child through the most powerful tool – education. Intending to replace begging bowls with books, Varun Shrivastava, along with three equally driven young Engineers laid the foundation for UPAY on 12th May, 2010. ABOUT THE ROLE:
As a HR Intern, he/she will have to provide assistance to our HR department in day to day operations. He/she will assist the HR Department in various tasks including recruitment, selection, orientation and employee training and development. Ultimately, an outstanding HR intern should be detail-oriented and able to demonstrate excellent administrative and organizational skills.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :
Screening potential applicant’s resumes and application forms to identify suitable candidates to fill company job vacancies.
Assess training needs to plan and monitor training programs.
Develop and monitor overall HR strategies, systems, tactics, and procedures across the organization.
Report to management and provide decision support through HR metrics.
Manage relations with all stakeholders and coordinating with newly hired candidates.
Updating company databases by inputting new stakeholders information and employment details.
Organizing interviews for shortlisted candidates.
Posting job advertisements to job boards and social media platforms.
*Should be available for 3-4 months
