As a vital member of our client’s executive leadership team, the Global Chief Operating Officer (COO) will work in close collaboration with the CEO to establish and propel the organizational vision, operating model, and company culture. The Global COO will spearhead the future design of the global supply chain and Print manufacturing network and supply partners, guaranteeing outstanding and on-time service, seamless operational continuity, cost optimization, and the highest quality assurance standards. This leader will oversee all facets of Print delivery as promised to clients, global production, supply chain management, vendor partnerships, and workforce transitions. By driving Print Production innovation and scalability in operations, the COO will ensure that the company meets and exceeds client satisfaction and financial targets. This role calls for a visionary and strategic leader who can streamline processes across functions and systems, enhance efficiencies, and ensure alignment with our client's mission and growth objectives. The COO will be responsible for developing and leading a team of high-performing professionals, cultivating an environment that promotes efficiency, productivity, and effectiveness. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience as a global business operator, ideally having risen through the ranks to reach an executive position. This individual will demonstrate a strong commitment to innovation and excellence in operational management while exemplifying the company’s values and nurturing a positive organizational culture.
Key Results Areas
Collaborate closely with the CEO to align and execute the company's strategic objectives, acting as the eyes, ears, and voice of the CEO across all internal teams while supporting the CEO’s external strategies and initiatives
Team with the CFO, Chief Transformation Officer, CHRO, and other section leaders to develop and execute plans that enable the business to achieve goals
Translate overarching strategies into actionable steps for growth, implementing enterprise-wide goal setting, performance management structures, and annual operational planning to ensure flawless execution on a day-to-day basis
Oversee business operations and improve overall processes while fostering a highly inclusive culture that empowers team members to thrive and that aligns with the organization’s objectives
Lead the business operations as the cohesive force for business units, functional areas, and supplier-partners to work together towards common company goals
Work closely with Human Capital to develop and implement effective talent management strategies to cultivate a talented and engaged workforce
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor regulations across all functions of the organization, maintaining the highest standards of legal and ethical practices
Strategic Leadership:
Refine and execute a comprehensive two-year roadmap for transitioning owned manufacturing facilities to an outsourced partner model
Align the transition strategy with the company’s broader objectives in direct marketing, nonprofit fundraising, and global growth
Operating Oversight:
Lead the alignment and collaboration of stakeholders to deliver the future state and related financial results Develop supply chain solutions for the future, while proactively addressing risks related to supply chain disruptions, geopolitical tensions, cost, and client quality expectations
Optimize global supply chain to support new partner networks ensuring systems alignment, and daily reporting to ensure quality and on-time delivery
Oversee production schedules to support campaign timelines, quality, and vendor performance to ensure uninterrupted service
Client Engagement, Retention and Growth:
Communicate with key clients to ensure transparency and confidence
Develop operating plans and standards to meet the client's expectations for quality, cost, and manufacturing/service timeline
Vendor and Partner Management:
Identify, vet, and onboard global partners with capabilities aligned to company needs
Build and manage long-term relationships with vendors, ensuring adherence to quality standards, timelines, and budgets
Create a network of strategic alliances and expertly apply those partnerships to drive business growth forward
Financial Performance:
Drive cost savings through outsourcing while maintaining or improving profit margins
Monitor KPIs related to operational efficiency, partner performance, and financial outcomes
Corporate
Collaborate with Chief Executive Officer, Chief Financial Officer, and other business leaders in budget planning and management based on strategic goals
Support presenting to and collaborating with the board
Play a key role in potential M&A
Sustainability and Compliance:
Incorporate sustainability practices, where required, into production and logistics strategies to meet client expectations and regulatory requirements
Requirements & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, operations management, or related field (MBA preferred)
15+ years of experience in global operations, supply chain management, or manufacturing with 5 years minimum in a C-suite or senior leadership role
7+ years in Print Production
Proven track record of successfully transitioning manufacturing operations to outsourced models
Extensive experience managing vendor relationships, contract negotiations, and global logistics
Understanding of direct mail, print production, or related industries a plus
Expertise in supply chain technology, vendor management systems, and production automation tools
Strong financial acumen, with experience in cost analysis, budgeting, and ROI measurement for large-scale transitions
Knowledge of global trade, tariffs, and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, international trade agreements)
This role is remote but prefer someone on the East Coast.
