The Role

 

Envitia is looking for a Lead Data Engineer to work on customer projects to build and implement data driven solutions to meet their business needs.

 

This role will involve immediate engagement on an existing Defence customer project where the successful candidate will be leading a team of data engineers to deliver the migration of multiple legacy system into an enterprise Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solution.  This project placement will also involve hands-on data migration activities.

 

The role will require for a strong sense of adaptability as it may involve several areas, including, but not limited to: Data Pipelining, Data Profiling, Data Quality Improvement, Data Migration, Database management, API use, etc.  

 

 

Job Responsibilities 

 

  • Leading a scrum team and providing the point of escalation for all issues and to drive priorities in line with the wider project direction.
  • Communicate clearly on progress to all team members, the project leadership team, project data architects, supplier technical resources, and to external stakeholders.
  • Support the test engineers with their QA objectives in-line with the project direction and priorities.
  • Manage various workflows within the Scrum team in order to act as a conduit between the data engineers and the project leadership team/stakeholders.
  • Managing realistic expectations and advising with the leadership team and stakeholders.
  • On-boarding, training and supporting new people into the team.

 

Skills Required 

 

·       Experience of leading a scrum team.

·       Strong experience of data engineering and migration processes.

·       Data profiling, data validation and data quality experience.

·       Database experience - SQLServer and Oracle database technology including dimensional modelling.

·       PL-SQL scripting.

·       Data interaction via APIs

·       Data processing workflow capability tools (e.g. FME, Tibco, Palantir, etc).

·       Cloud platform knowledge (ideally Azure) .

·       Understanding of data modelling techniques and parametric diagrams.

·       Experience of PLM data management.

·       Knowledge of secure and regulated environments, particularly Defence (preferred) or other Government departments. 

·       Ability to work with customers, partners and Envitia personnel at all levels from CEO downwards to establish credibility and build trusted status, with a passion to understand the customer challenges that we can solve.

·       Ability to motivate and inspire and build deep relationships both internally and externally.

 

Security Clearance Requirements

 

The successful candidate must hold or be required to go through an SC security clearance.

 

Location

 

The role will require travel to Central London or Surrey for two consecutive days every two weeks.
