Compensation: CA, WA D.C., NY, MD VA, NJ Minimum $103,000 – Maximum $128,800 per year

All other states: Minimum $87,600 per year – Maximum $109,500 per year

THE ROLE:

The SEMI Foundation, the workforce development and talent broadening arm of SEMI, is seeking an experienced, mission driven and creative Marketing & Communications Manager with excellent organizational and communications skills to manage all aspects of the organization’s marketing, communications, and public relations. We are looking for a dynamic professional who will lead the development and execution of high-impact marketing initiatives that engage diverse audiences, amplify the Foundation’s voice, and advance its mission. This role requires exceptional collaboration, leadership, and content creation skills to support organizational goals and drive brand growth. The Manager will oversee strategic marketing plans, manage content creation, and build relationships with media, while collaborating with internal teams to ensure consistent, compelling messaging across programs. This role will manage the mar/com of the organization itself as well as its multiple flagship programs, including registered apprenticeships, K-12 engagement, veteran engagement, industry awareness, and more. 


The ideal candidate is self-managed but able to work as part of team; highly collaborative and willing to be transparent about their work process and generous in sharing their knowledge; brings expertise, humility, and curiosity to the work in equal measure, and has superior communication skills.  


The Manager will need to be creative, energetic, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines and projects at any given time. 


This is a full-time position which reports to The SEMI Foundation Senior Program Manager of Industry Awareness.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


Strategic Oversight and Leadership 

  • Develop, oversee, and implement strategic marketing and communications plans that align with organizational goals and target audience needs. 
  • Lead cross-functional collaborations with program teams to set marketing priorities and ensure unified messaging. 
  • Oversee and manage marketing and ad budget, negotiate rates, and support allocation of marketing resources.
  • Be the point of contact and regularly interface with the Foundation’s external marketing firm(s).

Content Development and Oversight 

  • Create and direct the creation of high-quality written content, including blogs, presentations, speeches, annual reports, and programmatic deliverables, ensuring alignment with the Foundation’s mission and branding. 
  • Proactively identify opportunities to amplify the organization’s brand through timely social media posts and campaigns, blogs, and other channels; support program teams in generating visibility.
  • Review and approve marketing materials and publications to ensure brand consistency and messaging accuracy. 
  • Working with our external marketing firm, provide strategy and oversee the development and implementation of social media content that increases customer engagement across platforms.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to collectively and consistently develop timely content that promotes programmatic teams’ goals and successes.
  • Maintain general awareness of current industry news and stay informed on relevant industry trends.

Media and Public Relations 

  • Build and maintain relationships with marketing and communications professionals at member companies and identify opportunities for cross-promotion of partnerships or programs.
  • Working with SEMI marketing, respond to media inquiries and connect reporters with internal subject matter experts. 

Event Promotion 

  • Assist in development of promotional materials for events, webinars, and other gatherings
  • Oversee event marketing strategies to maximize attendance and engagement. 

Analytics and Reporting 

  • Oversee the performance and visibility of the company's online presence to enhance customer engagement; track attendance and identify areas of improvement.
  • Track, measure, and report on the effectiveness of marketing and communications efforts, using insights to refine strategies and improve outcomes.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: 

  • Must embrace the mission and vision of the SEMI Foundation 
  • 5+ years of professional experience in marketing, communications, public relations, advertising, or a related field
  • Successful writing and editing experience across diverse media formats
  • Proven ability to develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies
  • Experience building relationships with media and pitching stories
  • Ability to build and maintain trusting relationships with key partners externally and across a complex and decentralized organization, balancing multiple priorities and engaging cross-functional teams to drive alignment and execution.
  • Graphic design experience (Adobe Suite and/or Canva)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, virtual platforms
  • Proficiency and awareness of relevant social media platforms and content creation/delivery tools
  • General awareness of current industry news and ability to stay informed on relevant industry trends
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to use data to drive decisions
  • Ability to effectively interact with a variety of audiences, including civic, community, media, philanthropic, corporate, and government officials
  • Passion for storytelling

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Experience in the microelectronics/semiconductor industry
