MSL Captive Solutions Inc., a division of Strategic Risk Solutions Inc. (SRS), the world’s largest independent insurance company manager, is growing and looking for a Stop Loss Policy Administration Team Lead experienced in stop loss policy administration.
The Operations Team Lead handles the technical aspects of the policy administration process and manages the receipt and processing of RFPs.
Responsibilities and Duties
Policy Administration
Manage process and procedures for Policy Administration, including identifying and implementing operational improvements
Prepare the file used in policy construction and follow up with producers and/or underwriters regarding outstanding questions and/or paperwork (e.g., plan documents, applications, policy information, etc.)
Identify all required forms and materials related to policy issuance; prepare policy and endorsements via Policy Administration system or manually
Assist in handling various requests/inquiries from brokers and/or underwriters to include premium information, loss information, policy changes, submitting request for loss control visit, etc
Manage activity logs that track steps leading up to policy issuance including maintaining journal in the DYS underwriting system
Interact with other departments including Finance and Compliance to resolve discrepancies and/or issues
Own portions of carrier audit in regard to Policy Administration
RFPs
Use the underwriting system (DYS) to enter and clear submissions including entry of census and current/competitor rate information meeting required turnaround times for both standard and rush requests
Compile, sort and verify information received for completeness
Work with brokers and TPAs to collect missing data required to process the RFP
Monitor submission status and follow-up on outstanding documents to finalize
Collaborate with key partners including, but not limited to, Underwriting, Sales, Claims and other departments as well as outside producers
Run reports from Gradient AI system for risk scores using census data as part of pre-qualification of submissions
Two or more years of experience in medical stop loss underwriting preferred
Solid technical understanding of medical stop loss underwriting support function
Strong mathematical and analytical skills
Above average communication skills for internal and external partners
Proficient in Excel, Word, and Outlook
Strong attention to detail
Ability to multi-task, prioritize and complete assignments/tasks timely
Experience with the David Young System preferred
