Job description

A bit about the role
Salary: £35,000 (pro rata 0.5 FTE)
Contract Type: Permanent
Location: Remote
Hours: 20 hours per week

British Rowing is looking for an organised and passionate individual to contribute towards the development of the British Rowing Events portfolio. Working to support the Events Manager and volunteer Organising Committees, the role would suit someone who is keen to develop their knowledge and experience within sporting events.

N.B whilst this is being advertised as a Part-time employed role, British
Rowing would also welcome applicants from individuals wishing to take
on this role on a Contractor basis.


What you’ll be doing

No two days are likely to look the same in this exciting new role which will
support the planning and delivery of the British Rowing Championship Events. Key responsibilities will include;
  • Coordination of accommodation, catering and travel arrangements for all events.
  • Acting as overall lead for an agreed selection of the events.
  • Assisting with recruitment, retention and remuneration of volunteers.
  • Administration of finance process including budget management.
  • Working closely with the Communications and Marketing team to jointly develop and agree on event marketing and communications plans.

Essential Criteria
  • First-rate planning and organisational skills with the ability to multi-task.

  • Passionate about sport and an eagerness to innovate
Desirable Criteria
  • Previous experience working/volunteering at sporting events
  • A UK driving licence and the willingness to drive a van to/at events where required.
  • Awareness and understanding of the sporting events landscape in the UK.
