Connect for Health has a great opportunity for a Sr. Director of Marketing and Communications.


Connect for Health Colorado is a public, non-profit entity established by the Colorado General Assembly in 2011 to create a health insurance Marketplace. Since 2013, we’ve been helping individuals, families and small employers compare plans, apply for financial help and buy health insurance. As Colorado’s official health insurance marketplace, we are the only place to apply for financial help to lower the monthly cost of premiums. Customers can shop online; get help by phone or online chat from Customer Service Center representatives; and access expert help from a statewide network of certified Brokers and community-based Assisters. Position Summary:


The Senior Director of Marketing and Communications functions under the direction of the Chief Policy and External Affairs Officer. They are responsible for directing and executing a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy across all channels, aligning with Connect for Health Colorado’s (C4HCO) strategic goals. This includes but is not limited to leading an evolving marketing and communications team, overseeing all brand assets and ensuring consistent messaging to internal and external stakeholders.


This role directs the implementation of the marketing and communications (MarCom) plans and programs across the organization's internal and external audiences while being ultimately responsible for maintaining brand integrity. They oversee processes and the teams who develop, distribute, administer and coordinate communication and collateral to support and communicate with key audiences. They collaborate closely with the Chief Policy and External Affairs Officer and other management leaders to ensure C4HCO's accountability to all stakeholders and to maintain the efficiency of the MarCom function.


Position Responsibilities:

  • In partnership with the Chief Policy and External Affairs Officer, direct the overall development and implementation Marketing and Communications Strategy for the organization.
  • Lead and mentor the MarCom team and manage personnel actions including hiring, team growth/development and performance management.
  • Continue to refine the organizational structure of MarCom team to align with key audiences and C4HCO’s evolving needs.
  • Set MarCom goals and KPI’s.
  • Manage department and campaign budgets, timelines, and performance metrics. 
  • Ensure the MarCom team executes deliverables for all company and stakeholder needs. 
  • Ultimate accountability for Marketing and Communications vendor contracts and relationships.
  • Provide direction and oversight to the MarCom team in the development of brand initiatives, including visual assets, advertising campaigns, messaging, and positioning. 
  • Provide direction and oversight to the MarCom team in the development of messaging frameworks and brand guidelines to maintain consistency across all communication and marketing channels. 
  • Provide direction and oversight to the MarCom team in the development and execution of integrated marketing campaigns across digital, social media,  print, and event channels. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment in enterprise initiatives.
  • Responsible for the development of all CEO Communications including speeches, CEO presentations and other written materials. 
  • Responsible for the development and deployment of a multi-faceted and impactful internal communications strategy.
  • Serve as an internal MarCom partner and primary point of contact for the organization’s Human Resources and Finance Functions.
  • Serve as primary strategist for Crisis Communications.
  • Act as “Quarterback” with competing internal and external requests, ensure the MarCom team is executing on priority enterprise and stakeholder needs. 
  • Foster a collaborative work environment and encourage innovation within the team. 
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Colorado resident.
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, journalism or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of relevant marketing and communications experience, including significant time in a leadership role with direct team management in a for-profit/corporate enterprise; a government institution or non-profit entity. 
  • Strong executive presence and demonstrated history of experience engaging with and advising C-level leaders.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Strong EQ and personal leadership skills.
  • Proven experience in developing and executing successful marketing and communications initiatives.
  • A strong understanding of product marketing and business/customer growth strategies.
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing landscape.
  • Strong analytical skills to measure effectiveness and ROI.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other relevant software.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in leading organizational change/restructuring within a department.
  • Strong understanding of the healthcare or health insurance industry. 
  • Spanish Language.

Work Environment:

  • Currently working remotely.
  • The Connect for Health Colorado office is in the North Tech Center area of Denver, near the intersection of I-25 and I-225.
  • The work schedule may include some non-traditional hours, weekends and evening events.
  • Core office hours are typically 8am-5pm with some flexibility.

Connect for Health Colorado offers a competitive benefits package.  Employees are offered a robust benefits package and may elect from various offerings to tailor a package best suited to their individual needs. Connect for Health Colorado employees are eligible to participate in the organization’s 403(b) plan and are additionally provided with paid time off, short- and long-term disability, and life insurance.   The salary range for this position is $144,200  - $200,850.
