Front-End Developer (Astro Framework) – Part Time

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Front-End Developer proficient in Astro, a modern web framework, to build fast, engaging websites for our U.S.-based clients. Join our dynamic international web development and marketing agency and contribute to high-impact digital projects.

This is a part-time position, Monday through Friday, from 7 PM to 11 PM local time. You will translate design mockups into interactive, user-friendly web pages, delivering exceptional user experiences tailored specifically to medium-sized B2C businesses in the finance, legal, and accounting sectors.

Key Responsibilities

1. Front-End Development: Build and maintain websites using the Astro framework along with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Ensure the UI is responsive, mobile-friendly, and exactly matches design specifications.
2. Implement Designs: Work closely with UX/UI designers and UX writers to translate design prototypes and content into functional web pages. Fine-tune spacing, alignment, and component behavior for polished results.
3. Performance Optimization: Optimize sites for speed and performance (leveraging Astro’s capabilities), including efficient asset loading and clean code practices. Address any cross-browser or cross-device issues promptly.
4. SEO & Analytics Integration: Implement on-page SEO best practices (proper tags, structured data) and integrate analytics tools (Google Analytics 4) to track user interactions. Coordinate with the marketing team to ensure tracking and SEO needs are met.
5. Code Management: Use version control (Git) to manage codebase changes. Document your work and manage tasks through ClickUp to maintain clear communication with the remote team.

Qualifications

• Technical Skills: 2+ years of experience in front-end web development. Strong proficiency in HTML5, CSS3 (including frameworks like Tailwind or Bootstrap), and modern JavaScript/TypeScript. Experience with Astro or similar frameworks (Next.js, Gatsby, etc.) is highly preferred.
• Quality Focus: Familiarity with building high-performance, SEO-friendly websites. Ability to write clean, maintainable code and debug front-end issues efficiently.
• Tool Proficiency: Comfortable using Git for version control and working with build tools/node package managers. Exposure to using project trackers like ClickUp (or similar) to manage development tasks.
• Communication: Good English communication skills – able to understand tasks, ask questions, and collaborate with a team using American vernacular. Must be reliable during Indonesia evening hours and responsive in a remote work environment.
• Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving aptitude and the ability to adapt when facing a new technical challenge or learning a new tool.

Preferred Skills

• Experience specifically with Astro in production projects, or a demonstrable project using Astro (please mention if you have one).
• Knowledge of front-end performance testing and optimization techniques (using Lighthouse scores, etc.) to deliver ultra-fast websites.
• Basic understanding of back-end or headless CMS (e.g., familiarity with REST/GraphQL APIs) as it relates to fetching content for front-end display.
• Familiarity with SEO tools like Ahrefs and analytics (GA4) – so you understand the broader context of how your front-end work impacts site traffic and user behavior.
• Enthusiasm for continuous learning: keeping up with the latest web development trends, frameworks, and best practices.
