ActioNet has an opportunity for a Release Management Specialist requiring a Public Trust clearance. This position is 95% telework and based in Fort Worth, TX or Oklahoma City, OK.
You will be pivotal in ensuring smooth and efficient software and hardware components deployment. You will collaborate with various teams to develop and implement release management policies and procedures, ensuring that all changes are meticulously planned, tested, and executed.
Your expertise will be crucial in maintaining the integrity of the release process, from initial planning to final deployment and post-release support. This role requires a proactive approach to managing risks, coordinating with stakeholders, and continuously improving release processes to achieve high-quality outcomes. The right candidate will work well with a team, exhibit excellent customer service skills, be self-motivated, and seek ways to improve the environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Policy and Procedure Development: Help generate release management policies and procedures and ensure compliance with established release and configuration management policies.
- Outreach and Communication: Provide outreach, communication, and training to the IT services release management team. Coordinate communications with Business Partnership Services, including IT staff notices and customer notifications.
- Deployment Management: Deploy hardware and software components. Ensure all change packages include documentation such as installation plans, service desk training, back-out procedures, and schedules. Manage pilot or key-site test phases and assist with final production readiness testing. Deploy to the production environment and report back on deployment success.
- Change Coordination: Schedule enterprise changes and coordinate with customers and stakeholders. Maintain the release calendar and develop the "Forward Schedule of Change."
- Post-Deployment Support: Sustain client patching (e.g., workstation patch management, Adobe, Chrome). Deploy verification (successful/unsuccessful), compliance reporting, and metrics. Report back to enterprise change management on deployment success and close the Change Release.
Basic Qualifications (required):
- A bachelor’s degree in Information systems, business systems, management information systems, IT Management, or another IT degree is required. Engineering, math, and science degrees are acceptable substitute degrees. Six (6) years of relevant experience over and above the minimum experience requirements for the position will be considered equivalent to a Bachelor's degree.
- Five (5)+ years of experience in Infrastructure and Operations, Release Management.
- Experience with ServiceNow ITSM
- Experience with Tanium for the deployment management
Preferred:
- Experience with zScaler
- ITIL 4
