We are looking for a motivated Automation Engineer I with a passion for leveraging AI and automation tools to eliminate tedious tasks and drive operational efficiency. If you consider yourself an automation fanatic—someone who is always looking for ways to streamline processes using the latest AI tools like ChatGPT, Claude MCP, or n8n—we want you on our team.

In this role, you will design and implement automated solutions using Python, Typescript, microservices, and the n8n workflow automation platform, with a strong focus on embedding AI-powered enhancements. This position offers a unique opportunity to grow your skills in a DevOps environment while contributing to impactful automation projects that make a real difference.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Develop AI-Enhanced Automated Workflows: Build and maintain complex automation workflows using n8n, integrating various services, APIs, and data sources. Utilize AI tools like ChatGPT to streamline and enhance automation processes.
  • Python Automation Scripting: Write and refine robust Python scripts for data processing, system integration, and automation functions.
  • Microservices Development: Assist in designing and implementing microservices that support scalable automation architecture.
  • AI Integration & Innovation: Leverage generative AI to automate repetitive tasks and improve efficiency.
  • Troubleshooting & Optimization: Debug automation workflows and microservices for maximum reliability and performance, identifying opportunities for further AI-enhanced optimizations.
  • Collaboration & Solution Design: Work closely with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to translate business and technical requirements into elegant, automated solutions.
  • Performance Monitoring: Continuously monitor, analyze, and optimize automation workflows, ensuring scalability and resilience.
  • Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Create and maintain detailed documentation of automation processes, workflows, and configurations to promote knowledge sharing within the team.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • What does this person need to come into the organization to be successful in the role?
  • AI & Automation Enthusiast: Demonstrated experience using AI tools like ChatGPT, GPT-4, or custom AI workflows to automate tasks. Ability to showcase projects from personal or professional life that highlight an automation-first mindset.
  • Python Proficiency: Ability to write clean, efficient, and well-documented Python code for automation purposes.
  • Workflow Automation Expertise: Hands-on experience with n8n or similar automation platforms (Zapier, Node-RED, Airflow).
  • Microservices & API Knowledge: Familiarity with microservices architecture and integration using RESTful APIs.
  • Database Integration: Basic understanding of SQL/NoSQL databases for seamless data handling within automation pipelines.
  • DevOps & CI/CD Exposure: Understanding of CI/CD practices, experience with Docker, and familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Version Control & Agile Practices: Proficiency with Git and experience working in agile development environments.
  • Problem-Solving & Debugging: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with a focus on optimizing automation workflows for performance and scalability.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience: 1-3 years in software development or automation engineering (internships, personal projects, or co-op placements count).

If you get excited about automating the tedious, sharing your automation wins, and using AI to build smarter solutions, we encourage you to apply!

CentralReach was developed for Clinicians by Clinicians. The story of CentralReach begins in 2012 when the company’s founder, a practicing Board Certified Behavioral Analyst, decided there had to be a better way to manage her operations so she could spend more time on what mattered most — working with her clients and patients. To help ABA practices focus on what they do best, CentralReach launched the first iteration of its EMR and practice management platform.

Today, under the leadership of Chris Sullens, an award-winning CEO in the technology space, CentralReach is committed to their mission of providing cutting-edge technology and services to help clinicians and educators produce superior client and patient outcomes. Already a market leader, CentralReach is expected to grow exponentially through its four core tenets: hire and develop great people; build industry-leading products; provide exceptional service to customers and continuously invest in systems, processes and infrastructure.
