Role Summary

Summary:

The Director, RFPs and Grants is responsible for the evaluation, creation, writing, production and distribution of proposals, bids, quotations, or other documents describing Navigate360 products and services in response to requests from prospective and current clients. The writer is expected to collaborate directly and effectively with members of the revenue (sales), marketing, finance, legal, and product teams to oversee the process from concept to completion. This position is remote and reports to the Director of Enablement.

As a Director, RFPs and Grants, the candidate will be expected to handle a high volume of requests simultaneously and productively. The individual in this position will conduct research or internal fact-finding to find requested material relevant to subject matter area to ensure the funder’s policies and legal requirements are compliant while also continuously improving proposal responses and aligning proposal messages with our corporate goals in order to retain and acquire customers.

Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Define, schedule, and manage the proposal preparation process, including the ability to understand and analyze the details of an RFP
  • Research and establish a prospect database to build relationships and identify future opportunities
  • Evaluate prospective proposals for fit with Navigate360 product and service offerings
  • Effectively communicate requirements and timelines with internal team through the RFP process
  • Engage and collaborate with team members to obtain appropriate information and/or responses needed
  • Prepare written responses to RFP’s using information, facts, research and supporting documentation gathered from the RFP knowledge base and various departments/sources at Navigate360.
  • Understand the unique needs of the customer and industry to suggest and articulate the best solution to fit requester needs
  • Incorporate all pertinent information into a concise, professional, competitive, compliant proposal and ensure on-time delivery
  • Interpret complex issues and develop cohesive responses; adapt style, tone, and word choice to various channels or stakeholders’ requests
  • Write and develop processes and procedures, templates, standards, and best practices to successfully bid projects in a timely manner and providing suggestions as needed
  • Edit and proofread proposals and other relevant materials ensuring accuracy, clarity and readability
  • Help organize, prepare, identify all RFP supporting documents (ex: implementation timelines, charts, graphs, flowcharts, collateral, etc.)
  • Understand and represent company mission, vision, and values to all internal and external customers
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience in proposal writing
  • 2 to 4+ years of proposal writing and editing experience required; proven success in winning proposals
  • Advanced in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience providing support for sales or marketing teams
  • Meticulous attention to detail and high grammar proficiency
  • Ability to manage urgent deadlines and multiple requests from several internal stakeholders
  • Excellent project and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
  • Aptitude for process-orientated thinking
  • High degree of integrity and the ability to recognize the requirements of confidentiality
  • Exercise independent thinking with high level of prioritization skills, strong leadership and customer relation skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s or other related advanced degree or certification
  • 5+ years of proposal writing and editing experience required; proven success in winning proposals

Normal Working Hours and Conditions:  Core business hours are generally 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.  However, this position will require work to be performed outside of normal business hours based on Company operations. 

Physical Requirements:  Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting including verbally communicating, seeing and hearing to exchange information and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard.  Daily physical functions include standing, sitting and walking for prolonged periods of time and occasionally stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and twisting.  The employee may engage in lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling light to moderate amounts of weight up to 25 pounds.  The position also requires the operation of office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement.
