About the role

We are seeking our first full time Product Manager to take ownership of the Onyx BMS product. We have a well-formed vision for the future of body shop management and a live product that already satisfies a wide range of industry needs. It’s a fantastic start but we want to achieve more and continue to raise the bar. We need an experienced and driven product manager to work with stakeholders across the business and our customers, to ensure we maintain our focus and grow our market position.

As a product manager with at least five years within a product function and three years' experience as a Product Manager under your belt, you will bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the table. We use AHA for capturing and developing requirements and ready, move stories to our Azure DevOps backlog for Q&A, revision and further development in collaboration with dev ahead of implementation. You will be familiar with structured approaches to prioritisation and comfortable managing the needs and expectations of stakeholders including handling potentially difficult conversations when a single stakeholder's requirements may not be the business’s number one requirement. You will be entirely comfortable capturing and writing requirements alongside the associated business level acceptance criteria and working in a maturing scrum environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Be or become an industry subject matter expert
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to define requirements and understand the problem and solution space
  • Create and maintain product roadmaps
  • Collaborate with the implementation teams to ensure common understanding
  • Work with BAs, training, support and marketing to maximise NSP scores and ensure the consistent availability of high-quality product literature
  • Work with wider management team to ensure alignment with commercial objectives
  • Review and assess correctness of stories delivered
  • Be the voice of the customer internally
  • Assist in the creation of mock-ups, wireframes where appropriate to clearly define the user experience for enhancements to existing or new features
  • Capture and maintain details of the competitor landscape
  • Contribute to pricing strategies and discussions

Skills and experience

Essential Skills

  • Previous experience in a similar role leading delivery of a SaaS product
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Creation and maintenance of accurate and well organised product documentation
  • Stakeholder management
  • Requirements capture and definition of associated acceptance criteria
  • Requirements prioritisation
  • Roadmap production
  • Experience of working with scrum
  • Capable of managing multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
  • Tracking and reporting on performance against roadmap

Desirable Skills

  • Mentoring of stakeholders new to the role
  • Use of AHA! in an agile environment
  • Use of Azure Dev Ops
  • Familiarity with integration of third-party services through APIs
  • Establishing extensibility as a core tenet of product functionality
  • Experience in the motor insurance/fleet/accident management sector a bonus
