Seeking a motivated Controls Field Technician with assembly and controls experience to work with a team of other field engineers to install controls and monitoring equipment at airports around the globe. Must be willing to travel extensively and pass all airport-badging requirements and background checks.
General duties will span the spectrum of installations, including ordering parts to assembly, installation of monitoring systems, project scheduling, testing, verification, customer support, and everything in-between.
**This job is fully remote as you are a traveling technician.
**Travel Requirement - you are traveling Monday - Friday every week. This role is very travel heavy and if you apply, you're agreeing to being on the road every week.
**You must live near a major airport for travel.
YOUR IMPACT:
Work directly with the controls engineers and senior field engineers to define project scope and requirement.
Order materials, receive, assemble and ship required components for projects.
Coordinate with airport and airlines to get badging, ramp passes and times for equipment upgrades.
Install components, program, test to ensure functionality and validate installs.
Provide ongoing troubleshooting, support and system upgrades.
Assist engineering with troubleshooting, testing and upgrades.
On call support for issue resolution. Will be a first line of defense by trying to identify and resolve any hardware or connection issues.
Key Technical Skills & Experience
Electrical Background (critical)
Must have some exposure to electrical systems and low-voltage wiring (120V and below).
Experience with industrial maintenance, including PLCs, wiring, and hardware installations.
Not looking for a full controls engineer but someone comfortable working with automation components and willing to learn.
Networking & IT Knowledge
Understanding of network communication, including how installed hardware integrates with airport IT infrastructure.
Familiarity with setting up databases and logging systems.
Industrial & Maintenance Experience
Ideal candidates will have experience in maintenance roles in a factory or industrial setting.
Any background in industrial automation, electrical maintenance, or equipment installation is a strong plus.
Hardware & Controls Exposure
Will be working with Allen Bradley, Siemens, and Beckhoff PLCs, but prior experience isn’t required—just the aptitude to learn.
Installation of automation and control panels (not full programming but wiring and setup).
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or GED and 2+ years of experience in assembly, fabrication, system preventative maintenance or troubleshooting
Must have some exposure to electrical systems and low-voltage wiring (120V and below).
Must have a valid drivers license
Must be able to pass TSA background checks and drug screens
Must obtain a passport
Ability to travel up to 80%
STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience in system preventative maintenance and troubleshooting.
Basic knowledge of electrical, Mechanical and control systems.
Experience using common hand and power tools.
Experience with diagnostic tools electrical meter and software.
Knowledge of telecommunication, systems troubleshooting cable and network issues.
Experience interpreting mechanical and electrical drawings.
High degree of technical proficiency.
Excellent problem-solving skills and analytical ability.

Must be able to clearly view and analyze in detail drawings, other printed documents, computer screens, parts and components, measuring devices and instruments.
Ability to perform tasks wearing appropriate or required PPE, which may include but is not limited to hard hat, face mask, face shield, and composite toe shoes.
Pay Range:
$63,500.00 - $101,700.00The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by various factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's experience, education and skills, as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
