Role Summary

The position of Social Media and Communications Manager plays a pivotal role in supporting the global communications team to enhance social media presence and manage projects to optimise global communications activities. Key responsibilities include creating and curating engaging content for social media platforms, specifically managing our YouTube optimization, driving the employee advocacy program, and supporting the broader PR function through media monitoring and industry trend tracking. This role also requires close collaboration with marketing, design, and content teams to ensure seamless campaign execution and brand alignment. The position will focus on 80% regional social media and PR activities and 20% global initiatives, contributing to the overall communications strategy.

What You Will Do

Support in enhancing the social media program to ensure we’re cascading and implementing our global strategy effectively

Create, curate, and schedule consistent and engaging content for social media platforms

Develop and execute social media strategies to increase brand visibility and audience engagement across where required

Collaborate with the content team to align social media efforts with broader marketing and brand initiatives.

Lead on the YouTube management, supporting with optimizing videos for SEO, creating thumbnails, and managing video uploads on behalf of key stakeholders

Support on driving the global social media employee advocacy program drafting and scheduling posts, ensuring sales teams have key posts to engage with weekly

Work effectively as part of the global communications team

Contributing to overall team success and suggesting improvements to maximize performance

Overall support for the global PR function

Monitor media coverage and compile press coverage reports on the company’s PR performance

Help coordinate press events, product launches, and media briefings

Track industry trends and competitor media presence to identify opportunities for media outreach

Assist in management of our media monitoring tool (Onclusive)

Manage our central awards tracker (saving logos, submissions adding them to sophos.com)

What You Will Bring

3-5 years' experience in a similar role

Previously used creative programs/ Canva and video editing experience

Experience using social media management tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer, Sprout Social)

Able to handle a fast-paced news cycles, have strong instincts and willingness to jump in

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience in copywriting

Collaborative team player who is able to lead on projects with multiple stakeholders

Proficiency in social media platforms (especially, managing content in YouTube and LinkedIn etc.)

Experience with media relations, press release writing, and PR campaigns

Solid understanding of digital marketing and social media analytics

Strong at prioritizing and an ability to work cross-functionally, with multiple stakeholders

In the United States, the base salary for this role ranges from $100,000 to $166,000. In addition to base salary, we offer additional compensation including bonus eligibility and a comprehensive benefits package.  A candidate’s specific pay within this range will depend on a variety of factors, including job-related skills, training, location, experience, relevant education, certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
