Job Description:

Location: 

Remote, provided the candidate resides in one of the following markets: Santa Fe, NM; Denver, CO; Las Vegas, NV; Houston, TX; Dallas, TX; New York, NY; or Los Angeles, CA

Compensation:

The salary range for this position is $78,489 to $105,960.  Compensation is based on location and experience.

As our Senior Social Media Manager, you’ll be at the helm of shaping and executing a dynamic, highly engaging social media strategy across all Meow Wolf brand channels. You’ll craft content that sparks interest, FOMO, curiosity, drives conversations, and brings our immersive experiences to life in the digital space. Additionally, you’ll collaborate closely with regional marketing teams, providing channel expertise and ensuring that exhibition-specific and local social channels feature content that’s uniquely tailored to each Meow Wolf location.

From creating thumb-stopping content to experimenting with cutting-edge social tactics, you’ll be at the forefront of making Meow Wolf an industry leader in social media storytelling.
 

Key Responsibilities:

Lead & Execute Social Strategy

  • Develop, implement, and evolve a dynamic social media strategy that expands Meow Wolf’s reach, engagement, and fan base.

  • Own all brand social content planning and calendar, managing posting, platform-specific initiatives, and collaborate closely with community manager on engagement tactics

  • Identify new trends, platforms, and opportunities to keep Meow Wolf at the forefront of organic social performance

  • Maintain a consistent and vibrant social media tone and voice that reflects Meow Wolf’s unique brand personality—playful & imaginative, bold, curious and surreal– ensure all content feels authentic, engaging, and in line with our creative strategy and vision

  • Lead social media experiments - whether it's testing new platforms, scripting unique videos, producing live-streams, or working on fresh video formats – you’ll consistently find new and novel ways to express our brand and engage our audience

Create & Manage Engaging Content

  • Concept, write, edit, and publish compelling social media posts that bring the Meow Wolf universe to life

  • Lead content production for key social campaigns, collaborating closely with marketing managers, brand creative, production and/or other creators to craft videos, interactive formats and visual posts

  • Build relationships w/ broader Meow Wolf community and fans, influencers, social creators and execute social-native campaigns, activations, and collaborations

Oversee Local & Regional Social Media Execution

  • Keep eyes on social strategy implementation across regional Meow Wolf locations

  • Provide subject matter expertise and strategic guidance on content for local channels, ensuring cohesion while allowing for location-specific creativity

  • Monitor performance of regional social content and optimize for impact

Track, Analyze & Optimize Performance

  • Monitor and regularly report on key social media KPIs, analyze data, and adjust strategies to maximize engagement and growth

  • Leverage insights to refine content performance, audience targeting, and platform approach

  • Stay on top of emerging social media trends, tools, and best practices

Collaborate Across Teams

  • Work closely with the marketing and brand creative teams and more to align social media efforts with larger brand initiatives

  • Collaborate closely with paid digital teams for boosting organic efforts, ensure alignment of organic social strategy with paid campaigns, and other owned media channels (SEO, website blog, email marketing)

  • Partner with PR/comms, narrative/exhibition teams to integrate social into larger campaigns and universe storytelling efforts

  • Coordinate with community manager and guest experience team to ensure timely responses and proactive community engagement

Required Qualifications

  • A social media pro. You have 5+ years of experience managing brand social media accounts with a proven track record of success.

  • A content and storytelling wizard. You know how to write compelling copy, create engaging multimedia content, and craft narratives that resonate.

  • Is comfortable (at times) appearing on camera. 

  • A strategic thinker & creative doer. You balance big-picture strategy with hands-on execution, bringing ideas to life with agility.

  • A trendspotter. You live on the pulse of social media and are obsessed with the latest trends, memes, and platform updates.

  • A community builder. You understand how to foster engagement, drive conversations, and turn followers into passionate brand advocates.

  • A data-driven optimizer. You love diving into analytics to track performance, experiment, and refine strategies for continuous improvement.

  • A master collaborator. You thrive in cross-functional environments, working closely with creative teams, regional marketers, and brand stakeholders.

  • A lover of the weird, wild, and wonderful. Ideally, you are someone who already loves Meow Wolf, or are at least familiar. You recognize Meow Wolf is not a typical brand and you’re excited to push the boundaries of what’s possible in social media.

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and scanners.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Physical ability to walk, stand, take stairs/slides/elevators, and navigate the elements during the day and night. Employee may be required to remain in a sitting or standing position for prolonged periods, and repeat motions that may  include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.   Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Work Schedule:

This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 9a.m. to 5 p.m. or 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
