Job Description – Program Manager

Strategic planning and end to end operations, Cognizant Marketing

Job Description

The strategic planning and end-to-end operations team at Cognizant Marketing provides program leadership for complex marketing initiatives, programs and campaigns. Program managers work with stakeholders at all levels, from executive leaders to individual contributors to consult, arrange, schedule and drive complex, multi-channel efforts. The ideal program manager is highly organized, detail oriented and possesses superb leadership and communication skills. This is a senior level role. The candidate should be comfortable working in ambiguity, be able to delegate, and hold stakeholders accountable to schedules and deliverables as they deliver end-to-end results.

Role objectives

  • Leverage strategic skills to ensure program goals deliver on organizational objectives.
  • Ensure timely communication and smooth collaboration with all key program stakeholders.
  • Develop program tools that ensure continuous improvement.
  • Ensure organizational quality.
  • Ensure program timeline.
  • Supervise Collaborate and coordinate with multiple project and account teams that manage executional program work.

Responsibilities

  • Work together with the program sponsor, stakeholders and teams to align on organizational, strategic direction, approach and identify and capture program requirements to deliver against program goals.
  • Work with external agencies and partners as needed, capturing timely feedback, next steps, needs.
  • Manage program and demonstrate a high level of organizational skill.
  • Provide strong communication and direction when delegating tasks.
  • Identify and manage risk potential and communicate to stakeholders. Analyze and overcome potential areas of risk.
  • Communicate across the program management team to ensure critical information is shared
  • Manage program budgets as needed
  • Provide regular reporting on program progress against established goals and metrics as needed
  • Ability to prioritize programs and competing strategic priorities

Required Skills

  • 10+ years of experience as an account manager, project manager or program manager
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, time management and organizational skills (people manager experience not required)
  • Expert level MS office knowledge
  • Marketing experience – especially in digital marketing
  • Knowledge of change management principles
  • Proven ability to work effectively with stakeholders of all levels
  • Working knowledge of Workfront
  • Excellent writing and verbal communications skills

Preferred Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field (MBA highly preferred)
