Responsibilities

We have an excellent career opportunity for an Applications Specialist (m/f/d) in our Life Sciences Mass Spectrometry Division supporting our customers, sales and service teams across the UK and Ireland. The role has arisen due to continued success in business growth and product development.

The key focus of the role is supporting application of our mass spectrometry systems in the UK and Ireland working with the local sales team, assisting with pre- and post-sales, and service support activities, LC-MS/MS application support, customer training and attendance at meetings and conferences.

  • Technical application support of our customers to enable them to fully exploit the capabilities of their instrument investments and supporting the service group when required to ensure escalation resolution in a timely manner.
  • Post sales support including troubleshooting as required remotely and at customer sites.
  • Provide high level customer trainings and ongoing continuous support to ensure customer success.
  • Support of demonstration activities of Bruker’s mass spectrometry solutions in Bruker demo lab or at customer sites in the UK.
  • Data processing of sample evaluations for customers and generation of result reports.
  • Active participation in conferences and exhibitions, including customer interaction, preparation of posters and support of Bruker user meetings and customer focused seminars.
  • Willingness and ability to travel within UK/Ireland for extensive periods of time, this will be on a variable frequency depending upon demand and tasks and may be up to 70% at times with stay away-from -home. International travel possible as well (internal trainings and meetings, participation in instrument demonstrations in the European laboratories, potential support of other territories on a case-per-case basis).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree as chemist, biologist with a focus on either proteomics, metabolomics, lipidomics, maldi or maldi imaging.
  • Practical experience in using mass spectrometry technology with proven proficiency in chromatographic separations and problem-solving ability.
  • A thorough understanding of the role of liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry, as well as of its challenges in the area of chemical and biological analysis. Experience of maldi MS applications and development is an advantage.
  • Excellent ability and willingness to communicate and closely interact in support of our customers.
  • Experienced PC user with proficient knowledge of MS Office and range of current leading mass spectrometry processing software platforms.
  • Continuous customer support via emails, phone calls, web seminars in a timely manner.
  • High customer orientation and problem-solving ability.
  • Flexibility, the ability to work in a team, self-motivation and commitment.
  • Home-office based.
