Program Overview
RDG (Risk Decision Group) provides nationwide background investigations compliant with national government standards to include support of continuous vetting for over 110 government agencies.
About The Role
Peraton is seeking to fill several roles for a full-time Investigation Support Specialist for our Risk Decision Group.
This position is 100% remote.
What you'll do:
The Investigative Support Specialist will be responsible for the following but not limited to:
Successfully complete a 2 week remote training
Assist in conducting background investigations for the purpose of determining employment suitability of persons who require access to sensitive or classified U.S.Government information
Investigative Specialists will correspond in a variety of ways including telephone, email, fax, online and mail to obtain information required for cases assigned to them
Investigative Specialists will perform record searches at police agencies, courthouses, educational, financial, and employment institutions.
Investigative Specialists are required to fully research/brief cases and are responsible for updating policies for obtaining records from record providers.
Investigative Specialists are responsible for maintaining accuracy in our agency database utilized by all departments within the company
Investigative Specialists will routinely contact references for remote source interviews
Investigative Specialists are required to multitask within multiple database systems at one time with accuracy and efficiency
Investigative Specialists are responsible for preparing shipments for requests requiring USPS/FedEx/Fax
Investigative Specialists will be required to prepare payments by check or company credit card
Investigative Specialists must be able to interact professionally with others, type for long periods of time, meet expectations for attendance and punctuality, and able to pay attention to details while conducting daily work
Investigative Specialists are required to type and report all obtained information in a clear and concise report on a government issued computer system
Investigative Specialists may be required to initiate contact with our subjects and provide guidance for next steps in the investigative process
Investigative Specialists may be required to interact with field staff and provide support to the timeliness of their cases
The chosen candidate for this position must possess and be able to successfully maintain a government security clearance
Working from a secure home office is required
This position may work on assigned special projects and reports as needed
Position will require daily communication with team members and managers
Accurate and efficient typing capabilities (40+ WPM recommended) and ability to work within multiple computer programs concurrently
Qualifications
Required qualifications:
Currently hold a Top Secret Security Clearance
1 year of background investigation or reviewer experience in support of a government contract
High School Diploma
1 year of customer service experience
1 year of clerical experience
Must be able to sit for long periods of time
Have availability to work within normal business hours
Must be able to speak/type for extended periods of time and hear sufficiently to communicate over the phone; record, read and transcribe words and numbers with a high degree of accuracy
Desired qualifications:
Proficient grammar and writing skills in order to submit high quality reports with minimal or no errors
Ability to interact with a variety of individuals and personalities professionally and effectively
Ability to work in a fast-paced changing environment with limited supervision
Ability to multi-task on an advanced level
