Position Responsibilities
The General Ledger Accountant is responsible for performing day-to-day global accounting activities in the GSS and supporting Deltek’s General Ledger team in the US in the preparation of Deltek’s financial statements and related reports. Activities performed by this role include preparing and posting journal entries, analyzing, and reporting on account activity and material variances, preparing account reconciliations, and other ad-hoc reporting activities as required for assigned areas.
Specific Responsibilities:
Prepare various journal entries in one or more of the following areas:
Banks
Prepaids
Deferred rent
Deferred costs
Intercompany transactions
Goodwill/intangibles
Transfer pricing
Fixed assets
Accruals
Perform reviews and reconciliation of various subledger and GL accounts in accordance with company policy:
Bank reconciliation
Account receivable reconciliation
Perform Fixed Asset activities
Preparation of PBC request for on-going internal and external audits.
Cost allocations using Costpoint and performing analysis
Intercompany transactions
Balance sheet account reconciliations, including supporting schedules
Variance analysis
Perform Intercompany activities, including:
Perform regular reconciliation of intercompany accounts
Issue Debit Memo to Intercompany counterparts
Ensure timely settlement & collection of all I/C accounts
Support management of lease data, including:
Update ProLease or other systems as required to align to current lease agreements and terms
Run monthly audit reports to check and validate the lease activity
Clearly explain in writing or verbally general ledger account period-over-period variances
Prepare ad-hoc reports and analysis on assigned accounts, as needed
Support management and other team members when needed
Qualifications
At least 6 years of Accounting experience
Graduate of BA or BS in Accounting required
CPA preferred
Solid accounting knowledge of general ledger processing and account reconciliations required
Experience working in a Shared Services environment a plus
Willingness to work on a mid-shift to work with team members in the US
