The Opportunity

Cornerstone Brands is looking for a Chief Marketing Officer to oversee the development of digital and traditional marketing for our Frontgate, Ballard Designs, Grandin Road, and Garnet Hill premium lifestyle brands, and related cross-brand programs.

Reporting to the President of Cornerstone Brands, the CMO will build a world-class analytics and performance marketing organization that serves as the fuel and engine to drive profitable revenue growth across all Cornerstone Brand banners and selling channels. We are looking for a dynamic data-driven-decision making leader with a customer-obsessed mindset.

Cornerstone Services offers expertise and corporate support across the four Cornerstone Brands. These shared services include IT, digital commerce, customer care and distribution. The Cornerstone brands deliver inspirations that help customers enjoy life. Cornerstone comprises four interactive, aspirational home and apparel lifestyle brands: Ballard Designs®, Frontgate®, Grandin Road®, and Garnet Hill®. Cornerstone operates a separate ecommerce site for each brand, distributes 163 million catalogs annually, and has 22 retail and outlet stores.

Your Impact

  • Direct all performance marketing activities (acquisition and CRM) for our family of brands to include direct print marketing, paid and organic search, paid and organic social, and affiliates, and marketplaces.
  • Develop comprehensive strategies driving brand awareness, customer acquisition, customer retention and the revenue growth potential of our portfolio of omnichannel retail consumer brands.
  • Allocate marketing resources to increase productivity with the agility to read and react to the ever-changing omnichannel marketing universe.
  • Across Cornerstone's ecommerce properties, oversee optimization of technical site performance, enhancement of the User Experience, enhancement of product discovery, and removal of friction in the shopping and check-out paths.
  • Expertise and stewardship in building culture of data-driven decision making that grows and flourishes throughout Cornerstone.
  • Oversee consumer and market research providing forward-looking brand insights and opportunities to support our brand leaders' strategic plans and overall portfolio strategy.
  • Oversee Business Insights team with standardized and metrics across the brand portfolio in the following areas:
  • Marketing Insights focused on Channel- ROAS, Customer Acquisition Costs, LTV, KPI's, Marketing Mix and Contact Frequency.
  • Customer Insights – customer file composition and metrics, customer LTV by channel, product, season and new to brand and portfolio metrics.
  • Ecommerce Insights – site Indicators, productivity metrics and correlation on sources of traffic, cost of traffic and revenue, sessions, conversion, etc.
  • Collaborate in the development of promotional calendars with each brand banner to enhance their brand voice, merchandising strategies, and inventory investments.
  • Manage cross-brand marketing and programs for loyalty, design services, business to business.
  • Manage all marketing vendors, technologies, and procurement creating a solid network of strategic partnerships.
  • As a member of the Executive team the CMO will provide leadership and strategy in partnership with the other senior executive leaders and will be integrally involved in the corporate strategy and resourcing.
  • Shape a high-performing team; lead the team to achieve shared goals by inspiring them and challenging them to think outside the box.

What You Bring

  • You have 7 + years of experience in a CMO or Executive-level marketing role in Direct-to-Consumer Omnichannel retail with an understanding of driving direct marketing campaigns through different platforms including print and digital catalogs.
  • BSc/BA in business administration, marketing, communications or relevant field; MSc/MA.
  • You are a visionary and have demonstrated strategic vision for all marketing activities supporting company's strategic goals and delivering results while managing a large P&L budget.
  • Experience with disciplines of marketing for an omnichannel consumer retail company.

For New York City based roles only: The annual gross base salary range for this position is $300,000-$400,000-$540,000. Salary ranges are general guidelines only, and actual salaries will vary and are based on factors such as a candidate's qualifications, skills, experience and geographical location and business and market conditions.
