International Patent Docketing Specialist for US Law Firm

Position Overview

We are a U.S. patent law firm seeking International Patent Docketing Specialists with at least 5-10 years experience to provide comprehensive patent and trademark docketing support throughout all phases of international patent prosecution and U.S. trademark prosecution.

This is a remote position during daytime hours in India (with occasional nighttime conferences in U.S.). You must have a computer, place to work at home, and reliable high speed Internet connection.

Salary and Benefits

This is a salaried position paying a base salary of ₹8–18 lakhs per year depending on experience.

This role is critical in ensuring accurate and timely management of patent-related deadlines, communications, and database records. The ideal candidate will have exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a deep understanding of patent prosecution procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review incoming patent communications from foreign associates to determine docketing requirements.
  • Maintain and update patent matters in the docketing database, including docketing deadlines, bibliographic data, and remarks.
  • De-docketing in response to attorney instructions.
  • Communicate with attorneys, staff, and the docketing team to ensure accuracy of deadlines and data.
  • Identify and resolve errors or omissions in docketed information.
  • Navigate foreign Patent Office websites to verify and update records as needed.
  • Provide trademark docketing support as required.
  • Assist with additional department tasks as needed.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Excellent written and oral English skills
  • 5-10 years experience supporting U.S. law firms
  • Strong knowledge of international patent prosecution procedures and deadlines, including Patent Cooperation Treaty
  • Exceptional attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent time-management and organizational skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
