**THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT UPON CONTRACT AWARD** 

Job Description: Serve as contract specialist. Contract Specialist will be required to support the full range of cradle to grave contracting activities.  Support shall cover a wide range of customers on acquisitions to include procurement of complex and diversified items, services, and research and development. 

Responsibilities: 

• Provide support to organizations requiring contracting services as directed by the government.   

• Perform market research/analysis to determine availability of the requirement, analyzes market trends, commercial practices, conditions and technological advances, and selects appropriate techniques and procedures to solve any acquisition problem.  

• Analyze difficult contracting issues and determines recommended courses of action, which may depart from previous approaches.   

• Provide business advice and assistance to technical personnel involved in the development of the statement of work or data requirements.   

• Support both classified and unclassified efforts.  This position is subject to special programs and read-on. 

• Assist with the request for proposal (RFP) preparations. 

• Assist the supporting proposal evaluation, assisting the USG Contracting Officers in negotiations. 

• Assist with the administration and completion of contract/task order/purchase order modifications to include closeouts. 

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited College or University.  

• 5 years of user/technical experience with Standard Procurement System (SPS) and/or CON IT. 

• Operates within a multifunctional high OPTEMPO environment supporting many customers.  

• Extensive experience with USSOCOM procurement policies. 

• Adept knowledge of the FAR, DFAR, and SOFAR. 

• Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Action Acquisition Level II Contracting certification or equivalent. 

• Function at a level of performance similar up to mid-range NH-III. 

• Active Secret Clearance is required.
