Job description

Guardian is seeking a Group Benefits Client Management Market Leader (CMML) who is responsible for driving profitable growth, achieving persistency goals, and managing renewal targets with our highest value brokers. The role will cover groups of 2-2,000 lives. The Client Management leader will do this by leading, coaching and developing a high performing team. This role will report to the Head of Client Management, West Region.

The CMML will work closely with leadership and internal partners to leverage data when delivering on Guardian’s promise to inspire well-being, managing top and bottom-line growth strategies, and identifying opportunities to increase broker value. Success of this role will be largely dependent on creating a high performing team that is successful at building internal and external relationships and achievement of results within the assigned territory.

You will:

  • Lead and develop a team of Client Managers in an assigned market. This includes oversight of daily activities, monitoring and management of business and transaction volumes to increase persistency/retention/profit.
  • Drive consistent, efficient, and effective process and workflow activities within assigned region while maintaining a customer experience environment that directly supports driving increased revenue through great customer experience, re-enrollment, add-issues, and retention.
  • Work collaboratively by partnering with Regional Sales and Service Leadership. 
  • Be able to work in a matrix environment, facilitating change, defining, and monitoring metrics and effectively communicating, coaching, and executing.
  • Develop and manage talent through effective development planning and performance management. Align goals, monitor performance and metrics and ensure effective staffing models are in place.
  • Champion and support the team with clear communication and training needs.
  • Identify, recommend and champion process improvement and organizational initiatives to positively influence outcomes and financial goals.
  • Support the general wellbeing of the broker and client relationship for the development and growth of Guardian sales and client retention.

You have:

  • Four-year College Degree required or equivalent work experience; minimum 7+ years of experience in Client Management and/or Sales; preferably with Group Benefits
  • Understanding of sales and service environment and activities
  • Demonstrated ability to influence leaders, establish and maintain collaborative partnerships and provide thought leadership
  • Demonstrated ability to operate independently but collaborates with peers to drive a consistent experience
  • Excellent analytical, conceptual, and communication skills
  • Must achieve required industry licensing within 90 days of date of hire and maintain license through completing Continuing Education requirements.

Location and Travel:

  • The preferred location is Newport Beach, CA.
  • 10-20% travel is required for this position.

Salary Range
$100,280 - $164,750

The salary range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the primary location of the position. The salary for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate. In addition to salary, this role may also be eligible for annual, sales, or other incentive compensation.
