Senior RoR Developer

Information about the potential project:

• Client is based in PST (working hours, 9am-5pm or 10am-6pm CET).
• There is a team meeting 1-2 times per week, around 5-7pm.
• There is required on-call work: daytime (12h) + weekly rotation.
• Weekly rotation (from Monday till Sunday): engineer is required to be available in case of emergency.
• There are two OnCall rotations in Berlin and SF time (12h a day each).
• On-calls happen in a rotation cycle. If the developer can’t take an on-call s/he looks for replacement on his/her own.

Monthly salary ranges:

• B2B: 15,600 - 26,900 PLN + VAT
• UoP: 13,000 - 22,400 PLN (gross)

Requirements

First, check if you have:

• At least 5 years experience and advanced knowledge of Ruby and Ruby on Rails development.
• Confidence in AWS.
• Previous experience of working with Terraform, CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, Buildkite), Docker, Bash scripting.
• REST API knowledge.
• Worked closely with clients and maintained positive relationships with them.
• Ability to work on different tasks at the same time.
• A high sense of responsibility and accountability for work.
• Experience of writing documentation.
• Knowledge of English (C1), spoken and written.
• Being based within European Union.
• Can work cross-functionally with distributed teams, sometimes with teams in the CET timezone.

Bonus points for:

• AWS Fargate, Kubernetes, Kafka, Redis, SQS, MySQL, PostgreSQL;
• React basics, databases (DBA), Docker, logging pipelines (ELK, SumoLogic, Splunk), CDN (e.g., Fastly), Makefiles.
