Job Summary

The Systems Administrator, DevOps is responsible for the technical design, planning, implementation, and the highest level of performance tuning and recovery procedures for mission critical enterprise systems by serving as a technical expert in the area of system administration for complex operating systems.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and maintains site and related systems CI/CD deployment pipelines
  • Monitors and troubleshoots website performance issues
  • Recommends standard cost-effective solutions for Miles’ client needs based on Miles’ current processes and hosting infrastructure.
  • Develops and maintains server automation and deployment scripts and configuration to ensure operational reliability.
  • Establishes, maintains and manages users Unix accounts.
  • Develops procedures to maintain security and protect systems from unauthorized use and user abuse.
  • Develops procedures, programs and documentation for backup and restoration of host operating systems and host-based applications.
  • Provides in-depth technical knowledge to superiors and other team members as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in management information systems or equivalent
  • 5+ recent years of experience in complex systems design, website programming, systems software and support
  • Proficient in usage and configuration of Ansible, Linux, MySQL, Apache, and Varnish
  • Expert knowledge in modern web technologies such as Drupal and Wordpress and ability to troubleshoot issues at a platform level
  • Experience with implementation of Continuous Integration and Deployment systems (CI/CD), specifically development of CI/CD pipelines in GitLab
  • Experience with management of and key concepts around the product offerings of Google Cloud, Amazon Web Services, and Cloudflare
  • Proficient with git version control system and related DevOps platforms like GitLab and GitHub
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends on an alternating weekly schedule

LOCATION: This is a remote position open to candidates in the United States.

COMPENSATION: $60,000 - $95,000 DOE
