Job Description

This position is part of Data Architecture team. This team plays a pivotal role in constructing real-time and batch integrations for our Data Lake, connecting enterprise applications seamlessly, and facilitating B2B integrations with our valued SaaS partners, data consolidators, data providers and other third-parties. Our focus is on building cutting-edge, server-less integrations that ensure our data ecosystem operates efficiently, effectively & securely.

The ideal candidate will have significant experience using python/ java to build cloud native server-less integrations. Candidate will be a self-starter with desire to learn new technologies and solve challenging problems. Working collaboratively with strong interpersonal and communication skills are a must. Agile delivery methodology is followed.

Required Skills

Strong Python/Java Proficiency: Mastery of Python/Java programming language, AWS SDK, testing and related frameworks including a deep understanding of object-oriented principles, design patterns, and best practices.

AWS: Experience developing in AWS cloud native or server less approach (Lambda, Glue, Step Functions, SQS, IAM, API Gateway, Cloud Formation, Parameter Store, Secrets Manager, CloudWatch, and S3).

Data Integration: Experience designing & building server-less integrations to read/write to different data sources/targets like DynamoDB, Redshift, Snowflake, Aurora/RDS, REST web services, SQS and data files (fixed width, delimited, xml, json, parquet)

Cloud Data warehouse: Experience architecting & designing cloud data warehouse platform in Amazon Redshift, Azure, or Snowflake.

Database Proficiency: Proficiency in working with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB) and Relational databases (Oracle).

Version Control: Proficiency in using version control systems (e.g., Git) for collaborative code management.

Testing and Debugging: Ability to write unit tests, perform code reviews, and debug complex issues in data integration code using step-through/breakpoint debuggers.

Troubleshooting Skills: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues quickly.

Agile/Scrum Methodology: Familiarity with Agile development methodologies, especially Scrum, and the ability to work effectively in an iterative, team-oriented environment.

Communication Skills: Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for collaborating with team members and stakeholders. Experience in mentoring other developers.

Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline.

Desired Experience

DevOps Knowledge: Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and deployment tools (e.g., Jenkins, Travis CI).

Data Integration & BI Tools: Experience working with Reporting Tools like Domo or Cognos is a plus.

Experience working with ETL tools like Informatica is a plus.

Performance Optimization: Knowledge of techniques for optimizing application performance, including database query optimization, caching, and load balancing.

Documentation Skills: Strong documentation skills for code, APIs, and technical processes.

Industry Knowledge: Previous experience working with Life Insurance or Annuities.

Responsibilities

  • Design solution and code structure to be following best design patterns to deliver an easy to maintain, sustainable and performant code.
  • Ensures all new code is delivered with adequate unit test coverage
  • Participates in the discussion and documentation of best practices and standards for application development
  • Strong analytic, problem solving, mentoring, communication & collaboration skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to deliver presentations.
  • Participates in all Agile team meetings
  • Complies with all company policies and procedures
  • Remains current in profession and industry trends
  • Successfully completes regulatory and job training requirements
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Works in an agile, fast-paced environment with two-week sprint/release cycle
  • Collaborates with product owners, front and back-end developers, and user experience teams
  • Helps product owners with issue prioritization and contributes to project scoping
  • Manages time and expectations to reliable meet sprint commitments
  • Reviews requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback
  • Learn new technologies as needed and build solutions from scratch.

Base Salary Range: $115,000 - $155,000
