Job description

Are you experienced in OT systems, particularly SCADA, within the energy, utilities, or industrial sectors? Do you want to be at the forefront of cybersecurity for solar parks, driving innovation with real impact?

If so, welcome to Alight! We’re an entrepreneurial scale-up on a mission to decarbonize the grid by helping energy-intensive businesses transition to solar. Join us and be a key player in shaping the future of renewable energy security.

Your impact

As one of Europe’s largest solar Independent Power Producers (IPPs), our OT systems form a crucial part of the energy infrastructure. As our OT Specialist, you’ll take the lead in securing and managing these systems—ensuring our SCADA systems, dataloggers, and other OT assets are protected against evolving cyber threats.

This is not a hands-on engineering role but a position where you will own and oversee OT security at Alight. You’ll be responsible for implementing cybersecurity measures, managing key supplier relationships, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and driving strategic projects that enhance the resilience of our solar parks.

Your work will directly contribute to the safety, reliability, and efficiency of renewable energy infrastructure, ensuring a sustainable future while solving complex technical challenges.

KEY OBJECTIVES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop and implement OT & IT security architecture for solar parks, integrating security into SCADA and other OT components.
  • Secure existing assets through hardware and software security solutions.
  • Monitor threats, detect vulnerabilities, and coordinate incident response strategies.
  • Ensure OT documentation is maintained and up to date for all assets.
  • Conduct risk assessments and apply mitigation strategies to safeguard operations.
  • Act as the key interface between stakeholders, ensuring alignment on OT security strategies.
  • Based in Sweden, Finland, or Denmark (remote/hybrid options available), with occasional site visits to solar farms in Europe.

We’re looking for you

We’re looking for an experienced OT Specialist with a strong technical background, strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset. You might currently be working in roles related to OT/SCADA system management, automation, engineering, or security, but you have experience with entire systems and are eager to grow and develop alongside a fast-growing and ambitious company.

  • 3+ years securing OT systems in energy, utilities, or industrial sectors.
  • Expertise in SCADA systems, industrial protocols, and datalogger configurations.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks and network security tools.
  • Strong analytical thinking to troubleshoot complex OT vulnerabilities.
  • Clear communication to translate technical risks to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Collaborative mindset for cross-functional problem-solving.
  • Fluency in English; Swedish proficiency is a strong advantage

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Experience in renewable energy systems (solar PV, battery storage).
  • Hands-on scripting skills (Python, PowerShell) for security automation.
