Overview:

Workers' Compensation Claim Consultant
Location: 100% Remote 
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
Salary Range: $75,000 - $95,000

About the Role:

Join CCMSI as a Workers' Compensation Claim Consultant, managing lost time claims exclusively in the California jurisdiction for a single dedicated account. This remote position offers the opportunity to apply your expertise in California workers’ compensation laws while providing exceptional service to our client. A California Self-Insurance Plan (SIP) certification is highly preferred.

Responsibilities:
  • Investigate, evaluate, and adjust California workers' compensation lost time claims per corporate standards and state regulations.
  • Establish and recommend reserves within designated authority levels.
  • Review and approve medical, legal, and indemnity-related invoices.
  • Negotiate settlements in alignment with client-specific guidelines and state regulations.
  • Maintain a detailed claim diary and provide timely status updates.
  • Calculate disability rates and ensure compliance with California jurisdictional laws.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, injured workers, attorneys, and medical providers.
  • Participate in claim reviews, mediations, and hearings as needed.
Qualifications:

Required:

  • At least two years of experience handling California lost time workers' compensation claims.
  • Strong knowledge of California workers' compensation laws and procedures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, remote work environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Preferred:

  • California Self-Insurance Plan (SIP) certification highly preferred.
  • Prior experience attending claim reviews or mediations.
Additional Details:
  • Travel Requirement: Limited to an annual team meeting in Irvine, CA.
  • Performance Metrics: Evaluated through regular audits and supervisor reviews.
