What you’ll do

The National Sales Executive is responsible for driving account retention and new business acquisition within their region. This role contributes to the development of the national sales strategy and is expected to deliver products and services that meet or exceed customer expectations. The National Sales Executive is accountable for achieving agreed-upon membership growth and financial targets.

 

In this role, you’ll also: 

  • Serve as a primary contact between broker, reinsurer and Health Plans, Inc. for information including products, benefits, and the value and quality of Health Plans, Inc. 
  • Act as a consultant on plan design, provides renewal rates, and works with internal service areas such as Client Services to provide customer service solutions.
  • Support the Sales Direction in the development of sales goals and plans to increase membership and account retention.
  • Prepare reports and membership projections; gather competitive information. 
  • Continuously developing and maintaining in-depth knowledge of Health Plans, Inc. products, benefits, services and systems, and the healthcare industry, including applicable legislation, through regular training and team meetings. 
  • Attend meetings as required. 

 

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • At least five years of sales experience, preferably in the healthcare industry.
  • A collaborative approach, working seamlessly with both leadership and team members. 
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize while maintaining accuracy under pressure.
  • Proven negotiation skills and the ability to navigate complex conversations effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal with professionalism at the forefront.
  • The ability to thrive independently while contributing as a valued team player.
  • A strategic mindset with the ability to anticipate and understand system interactions.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess problems, situations, and financial data, driving sound decision making.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with consistent follow-through and follow-up.
  • A results-driven focus, meeting deadlines and managing competing priorities.
  • Committed to handling sensitive information with discretion and maintaining confidentiality. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
