What You’ll Do
You won’t just maintain infrastructure - you’ll shape it for the future. You’ll help design, build, automate, and optimize our cloud environment to ensure performance, reliability, and security as we grow.
In this role, you’ll be hands on with critical infrastructure projects - from automation and monitoring to security enhancements and system tuning. From scripting new tools to fine-tuning AWS resources, you’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure LearningBuilder runs like a well-oiled machine.

Key Responsibilities
Platform Maintenance & Operations
- Perform ongoing LearningBuilder platform upkeep, including system updates and enhancements.
- Manage disk space utilization and optimize storage configurations.
- Contribute to regular security patching to ensure compliance and system integrity.
- Oversee SSL certificate management, including renewals and installations.
Monitoring & Security
- Continuously monitor infrastructure health, including automations, server utilization, and application performance.
- Analyze security scan results and identify actionable improvements.
- Conduct regular security audits to ensure compliance.
- Track and optimize cloud infrastructure costs.
- Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours incidents.
Support & Incident Response
- Investigate and resolve MS SQL tempdb issues to ensure database performance and stability.
- Address failed jobs and diagnose infrastructure-related issues.
- Diagnose and resolve outages in a timely manner.
- Troubleshoot infrastructure failures and resolve escalated issues from engineering and customer support teams.
- Provide internal support for platform tools and infrastructure-related issues.
Cloud Engineering & Automation
- Manage AWS infrastructure using Terraform.
- Implement and maintain Windows Server environments, AWS Security Groups, IAM policies, and S3 storage configurations.
- Manage SSL certificates (CSRs, renewals, reissues, installation).
- Develop automation tools using AWS Lambda, SSM Documents, and scripting languages like Powershell.
- Contribute to the design and architecture of new features to enhance platform performance and reliability.
- Improve CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes with Bitbucket Pipelines, Packer, Terraform, and AWS SSM.
- Enhance monitoring and alerting systems to proactively detect issues.
Documentation & Knowledge Management
- Create and maintain internal documentation to support scalability and efficiency.
- Improve operational runbooks for faster issue resolution and response consistency.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in a similar role.
- Strong experience managing Microsoft environments (Windows Server, SQL Server, Active Directory).
- Hands-on experience with AWS services (S3, EC2, CloudFront, ALB, SQS, DynamoDB, Lambda, CloudWatch, IAM, VPCs).
- Proficiency in PowerShell, Ruby, Python, or other scripting languages. You will be writing PowerShell automation scripts.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Solid understanding of DevOps methodologies, including CI/CD pipelines, automation, and infrastructure management.
- Exceptional writing and documentation skills—you must be able to write complex ideas in a clear and structured way.
- Fluency in spoken and written English with minimal accent for clear communication with technical and non-technical teams.
- Strong problem - solving skills and ability to diagnose infrastructure and security issues.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively - you must be able to take initiative and contribute effectively to a team.
- Ability and willingness to follow established processes.
Location: This role is approved for remote work, but you must reside in one of the following states to be eligible: DC, Maryland, Virginia, Ohio, North Carolina, Florida, or Arizona.
Salary Range: 100K - 125K, depending on experience. If you are a remote employee, we expect you to have an appropriate, separate, work from home office.
