The Senior Territory Manager is part of our dedicated Siplast team. This position is remote and generally requires the establishment of, and operation from, an in-home office and requires travel of 60-80% to various customers, events and offsite meetings. Job Summary
The Siplast Senior Territory Manager is responsible for promoting and selling Siplast roofing and/or Wall Control products and all aspects of general administration within his/her district. This role engages with owner/developers, construction and enclosure consultants, architects, specifiers, distributors, and installing contractors to provide significant technical advice and guidance in their design, specification, and installation processes. This includes identifying project opportunities, generating and disseminating leads, deepening the customer network, providing professional learning units, and demonstrating products. This role will be accountable for influencing the key decision-makers in the commercial construction process to increase sales opportunities for Siplast and our customer base.
Essential Duties
- Sell Siplast products through specification selling to major owners, architects, roofing consultants, and roofing contractors including identification of prospective jobs and decision making individual, timely contact, and effective follow-up. Also includes proper use of sales and promotional tools provided by the company and development of additional tools, such as local job photos, testimonials, references, etc.
- Assist with the development and maintenance of a quality select roofing contractor and lightweight contractor program, based on knowledge of contractor business, general market knowledge, and active involvement in local trade organizations and activities. This includes the management of the contractor base including regular business review meetings, training of contractor crews and monitoring of Siplast applications.
- Provide technical services including development and/or review of roofing specifications for prospective jobs, participation in pre-job meetings (when required), conduct periodic job/rooftop inspections (when required), and basic troubleshooting. Work closely with local field technical representatives in prioritizing and managing technical needs of his/her territory.
- Develop, monitor and manage Sales budget including forecasting, sales and related business expenses ensuring that all territory expenses are within defined limits, and policies followed.
- Complete all required administrative and electronic reports to include itinerary, expense reports, prospect lists, job quotes, shipping forecasts, call reports, activity reports, guarantee forms, factory warehouse inventory reports per established guidelines and time frames.
- Administer pricing guidelines to include maximizing price on each job, proper and timely documentation for pricing, and responsible determination for required pricing deviations, based upon job size, competitive threat, specification rigidity, etc.
- Assist the Credit Manager in maintaining all accounts in a "current" or "acceptable" status.
- Aide the Regional Sales Director/Area Vice President in cultivating and mentoring other team members with a culture that is driven by relentless innovation and with a strong emphasis on motivation including training, inspiring and providing feedback on team members and Independent Sales Agents.
- Assist with distribution management by determining the need for and selection of adequate sources of material supply in all markets serviced, assisting (when required), with inventory determination and management, and training and motivation of distributor personnel.
- Adhere to all safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe and compliant work environment including but not limited to following established safety protocols, using appropriate personal protective equipment, participating in safety training, reporting hazards or incidents promptly and complying to all safety regulations.
Qualifications Required
- H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field Preferred
- 10+ years of relevant experience in the roofing, building or construction industry Required
- 5+ years experience managing client/customer relationships
- DL NUMBER - Driver License, Valid and in State Must have (and maintain) a valid driver’s license and an insurable driving record Required
General Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office Suite and/or G Suite
Qualifications Preferred
- Sales experience in the building material industry preferably in multi-channel selling of roofing materials to distributors, contractors, consultants and architects
- Excellent interpersonal skills to include effective communication, sales ability, building and maintaining client relationships, persuasiveness, and presentation skills
