Director, Content Strategy

 

Location:                           Remote, USA
Employment Type:         Full-Time
Compensation:               $155,000.00 - $200,000.00 (Range applies to US candidates only) + Benefits/Variable Comp/Equity - Range may vary based on experience.

Summary

As the Director of Content Strategy, you will play a critical role in positioning OneStream as a trusted advisor to the CFO. You will be responsible for defining, building and leading an end-to-end content strategy. With 10+ years’ experience in building and managing content operations for global B2B SaaS companies, you will develop and execute a comprehensive content factory that maps across the entire (digital) buyer journey, aligns with marketing objectives and business goals, and resonates with our target audience: the Office of the CFO. This role requires a forward-thinking leader with a pulse on issues related to Finance and a passion for telling compelling stories and enhancing content strategy and creation in an evolving digital landscape. 

This position will be responsible for delivering personalized, high-impact experiences across varying levels of the buyer journey, transforming content into stories that inspire readers to take action. You’ll lead a high-performing team to crafting compelling narratives that resonate with Finance leaders, build award-winning content marketing campaigns and stand up effective content creation and management processes, all while staying ahead of digital content marketing trends.

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Content Strategy Development

  • Research, build and execute an end-to-end content strategy targeted Finance leaders across priority verticals and geographies, partnering with key stakeholders in demand generation, digital marketing and product marketing, to ensure an integrated content market strategy that drives demand and addresses each stage of the buyer journey for buyer personas.
  • Define and build content guidelines and a multi-channel distribution strategy that establishes content formatting standards for varying media including, but not limited to, blogs, email, social, webinars, landing pages, across paid, earned, owned and shared channels.
  • Develop scalable workflows for content creation and review processes, as well as translating and localizing content for different regions.
  • Stay abreast of industry and competitor trends to keep strategy innovative and effective.

Content Creation and Management

  • Oversee the production of high-quality content, ensuring a cohesive narrative that reflects OneStream’s mission and vision, and maps to core thought leadership talk tracks and topics, and points to OneStream’s core value proposition and product differentiation.
  • Build and scale repeatable content creation processes that intersect existing workflows across the marketing function, are aligned to the content strategy, and fluid to reflect and keep up with the ever-changing business drivers that impact Finance.
  • Build on processes that scale relevant content and campaigns globally across geographies and languages, while maintaining brand consistency.
  • Establish and execute content lifecycle management processes, including updates, audits, retirement, and evergreen content strategies that maximize long-term value and map to business priorities.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture, encouraging the exploration of new content formats and distribution channels.

Content and Demand Generation Alignment

  • Parter with Brand & Events, Product Marketing, Demand Generation, Customer Marketing and Digital Marketing teams to ensure an integrated content strategy that informs demand and digital with insights and stories needed to help them achieve goals and drive powerful outcomes.
  • Communicate content strategies and performance metrics to stakeholders, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.

Content Advisory and Team Leadership

  • Lead, mentor and develop a team of content storytellers and creators (in house and external) who are aligned to the strategy, and empowered to drive successful results collaboratively across the marketing function.
  • Drive alignment across cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, product, to maximize the impact of the content strategy and execution.
  • Serve as an advisor and strategist to executives and key internal stakeholders on best content approaches and practices, and how to cascade critical messages across digital touchpoints within the buyer journey.

Technology Integration

  • Bring best-in-class recommendations for content management systems (CMS), analytics platforms and project management tools to streamline content creation and operations and measure their effectiveness.
  • Bring hands-on experience working with and leveraging complementary technology for content creation, SEO analytics, and CMS platforms (e.g. WordPress, HubSpot, Canva, Marketo, SproutSocial) that make content creation and management processes productive and effective.
  • Strong understanding of and willing to partner with digital teams to integrate SEO and keyword optimization tools into content enhance discoverability, drive organic traffic and improve digital PR footprint.

Analytics and Optimization

  • Partner with marketing operations team to stand up key metrics and measurements that directly tie to marketing KPIs, incl. pipeline growth, and gauge content effectiveness and performance that informs strategy adjustments.
  • Regularly audit content to ensure relevancy and accuracy, and alignment with the business goals and priorities.
  • Leverage AI and analytics tools to gain insights and optimize content for better engagement and conversion rates.

 

Required Education and Experience

  • 10+ years of experience building and executing content strategy for global B2B SaaS companies, with 3+ years leading and managing in house and/or external content teams.
  • Expertise in creating personalized, engaging, and scalable content that drives measurable business results.
  • Strong understanding of the digital buyer journey, SEO, digital marketing best practices, and multi-channel content distribution strategies. Demonstrated success in evolving content strategies to stay ahead of digital trends.
  • Proven track record of building and managing high-performing teams in a fast-paced, tech-driven environment.
  • Familiarity with advanced analytics platforms (e.g., Tableau, Looker) and customer journey mapping tools.
  • Familiarity and understanding of accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG) and include elements such as alt text, transcripts, and clear formatting.

 

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Certifications in digital marketing, SEO, AI applications, or related fields (e.g., HubSpot Content Marketing Certification, Google Analytics) are a plus.
  • MBA or advanced degree in Marketing or Business Administration preferred.

  • Expertise in designing and executing content strategies for global B2B SaaS companies.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to tailor messaging for finance audiences.
  • Advanced knowledge of content management systems (CMS), analytics tools, and project management software.
  • Proficiency with AI-driven tools for content ideation, creation, and optimization.
  • Strong understanding of SEO, digital marketing best practices, and multi-channel content distribution strategies.
  • Familiarity with advanced analytics platforms (e.g., Tableau, Looker) and customer journey mapping tools.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of articulating complex ideas to diverse audiences.
  • A strategic thinker with a proactive and hands-on approach and a high-level of emotional intelligence to navigate team dynamics.
