Description

The Property & Specialty UW Effectiveness team is looking for a team member who will play an active role in helping to deliver underwriting solutions that will enable profitable growth. As part of the Systematic Controls and Data Accuracy Team, this role will focus on defining and managing our UW appetite across brands through data supported analysis and project management. This role will drive segmentation benefit across the entire policy lifecycle by developing and deploying systematic controls and implementing enhancements to DA behavioral programs. This role requires stakeholder management and strong collaboration across State Management, Distribution, Solution Delivery, Service, and FraudHub to effectively drive work forward. We're looking for someone with strong data retrieval and analytical skills who can drive forward actionable recommendations. Responsibilities

  • Conducts moderate to high complexity analysis under minimal direction.
  • Queries data to conduct ad hoc analysis of metrics.
  • Builds tools and queries for others to use.
  • Performs the underlying analysis on projects important to the SBU.
  • Provides recommendations on the appropriate tools and techniques to perform analysis.
  • Leads own workstreams on medium to long-term or moderate to high complexity projects.
  • May manage aspects of low to moderate complexity projects including members within and outside team.
  • Conducts competitive intelligence and understands market trends. Monitors and interprets developments, and use to inform strategic direction.
  • Serves as ad hoc resource for less experienced analysts. Occasionally mentors’ others as requested.
  • May, with limited supervision, conduct analysis to evaluate and implement vendor products.
  • Using information gathered from analysis and research, provides franchise tactical recommendations on a countrywide basis for distribution channels while supporting changes for unique situations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mathematics, economics, statistics, or other quantitative field
  • Minimum 4 year's relevant work experience, typically 6 years.
  • Master's degree beneficial. Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and statistical software packages (e.g., SAS, Emblem).
  • Must have strong planning, organizational, analytical, decision making and communication skills.
  • Experience managing projects preferred.
