Responsible for designing and implementing strategies to educate and advise travel agents, with the goal of increasing sales and market share. This role manages a key group of travel agency accounts, striving to meet or exceed established objectives. The BDM/BDD is directly accountable for promotional activities that lead to revenue production from sales by travel agents and identified KPIs within the assigned geographic area across all major product groups for Carnival Cruise Line. The position involves promoting company products to accounts through in-person sales calls, online webinars, telephone, and written communication. Notably, this role does not require making sales to consumers of Carnival products.

Essential Functions:

  • Design and implement strategies for territory management and business development to ensure long-term relationships with travel agents are consistent and continue to grow in accordance with corporate objectives.
  • Enhance promotional effectiveness and develop marketing strategies. Provide travel agents with online promotional materials and collateral and make recommendations to enhance agency marketing effectiveness.
  • Educate travel agents on Carnival Cruise Line products and provide sales and marketing assistance. Make assigned sales calls per week in the specified territory to travel agency accounts as directed by RVP/VP North America.
  • Conduct training sessions and webinars to educate travel agents on Carnival Cruise Line offerings, promotions, and booking processes. Develop and deliver engaging training materials, including presentations, videos, and interactive content.
  • Maintain frequent contact with RVP/VP North America to ensure territory needs are met and opportunities are addressed.
  • Collaborate with Key Account Directors, Carnival Independent Agent Team, and Strategic Partner Division to maintain clear and consistent communication with travel agent accounts to achieve revenue and KPI targets. Conduct sales blitzes to target specific company initiatives.
  • Manage co-op needs and territory budget.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed agency database through Oracle Sales Cloud or current CRM
  • Complete required reporting of activities and track budgeted tools as requested by RVP/VP.


Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in sales, preferably within the travel or hospitality industry.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong understanding of the travel agent distribution channel
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

  • Self-motivated, proactive and results driven.


Physical Demands: Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time. May need to stand for long periods of time.

Travel: 25-50% with shipboard travel likely

Work Conditions: Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential. Remote work environment, personal home office set up.

This position is classified as “remote.” As a remote role, it allows employees to work full-time from their home. It may also require regular travel to Carnival headquarters in Miami, FL for in-office collaboration. Sourcing of candidates is primarily done in Carnival’s remote hubs of Orlando, Tampa, Atlanta, Houston, and Dallas. If the search is extended past those areas, candidates must be located in one of the following U.S. states: FL, GA, TX and NC
