Job Description

What Does the VP, Group Account Director Do?

The Vice President, Group Account Director (VP, GAD) in the Medical Communications (MedComm) division is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing multiple client accounts and driving the strategic direction of the business. This individual will lead a team of account managers and directors, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, innovative medical communication strategies that align with client goals and objectives. The VP, GAD will also play a critical role in business development, client retention, and team development. 

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for key client accounts, fostering strong relationships and ensuring client satisfaction. 
  • Develop and oversee the execution of strategic plans that align with client objectives, ensuring the delivery of innovative and effective medical communication solutions. 
  • Provide strategic guidance and oversight on all aspects of account management, including project planning, execution, and performance evaluation. 
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of account managers and directors, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence. 
  • Oversee the allocation of resources across accounts, ensuring optimal team performance and client satisfaction. 
  • Provide ongoing coaching and professional development opportunities to team members, helping them achieve their career goals and excel in their roles. 
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within existing accounts and through new client acquisitions. 
  • Collaborate with the business development team to develop and present proposals, pitches, and presentations to potential clients. 
  • Drive revenue growth and profitability for the MedComm division by expanding the scope of work with existing clients and securing new business. 
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality work that meets or exceeds client expectations, adhering to timelines, budgets, and regulatory guidelines. 
  • Oversee financial management of accounts, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. 
  • Implement processes and best practices to optimize efficiency and effectiveness across the MedComm division. 
  • Collaborate with other departments, including medical strategy, creative, digital, and production, to deliver integrated solutions that meet client needs. 
  • Work closely with senior leadership to align account strategies with overall business objectives and drive organizational success. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in life sciences, marketing, communications, or a related field; advanced degree (e.g., MBA, PhD) preferred. 
  • 8+ years of experience in medical communications, healthcare marketing, or a related field, with a proven track record of success in account management and client leadership. 
  • Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries, including regulatory requirements and market dynamics. 
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and inspire teams and clients. 
  • Proven ability to develop and execute strategic plans that drive business growth and client success. 
  • Strong financial acumen, with experience managing budgets and financial performance for multiple accounts. 
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines.

EVERSANA is committed to providing competitive salaries and benefits for all employees. The anticipated base salary range for this position is $159,000 to $170,000 and is not applicable to locations outside of the U.S. The base salary range represents the low and high end of the salary range for this position. Compensation will be determined based on relevant experience, other job-related qualifications/skills, and geographic location (to account for comparative cost of living). EVERSANA reserves the right to modify this base salary range at any time.
