Job description

Position Summary

IEM is looking for a Full Time – Release Planner to join our dynamic team.

Primary Location:

  • Candidates can originate from anywhere in United States.
  • Candidates will work remote and travel to client sites within Puerto Rico as needed.

Travel Requirements

  • This position requires travel to complete work assignments or attend meetings.

Essential Functions

  • As a Senior Technical person you will work with vendors, business and IT resources to effectively plan releases to DEV, TEST, UAT and Production environments as required by project needs.
  • Develop plan, schedule and resource requirements for code and configurations to required environments during the entire project life cycle.
  • Manage release and refresh activities for each release and produce reports showing outcomes from release (Defect Report).
  • Coordinate with LUMA IT and Business to drive Change Advisory Board approval for migrations to required environments. Prepare and present required documents for approval.
  • Follow all policies and procedures & ensure compliance with LUMA IT release policies and procedures.
  • Provide support during release activities and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
  • Perform major storm restoring work and associated drills as assigned or needed.

 Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Three (3) years of IT Experience in a similar role
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Experience with release management tools and processes such as Jira, DevOps, etc.
  • Knowledge of version control
  • Valid Driver’s License

Preferred Qualifications

  • Three (3) – Five(5) years Electric Utility experience
  • Experience with Agile and Scrum methodologies.
  • Bilingual proficiency in written and oral communication (Spanish and English)

Additional Location and Travel Information:

  • Internet Requirements: All remote work environments require the ability to maintain minimum Internet speeds of 25 Mbps upload and 3 Mbps download, as well as a ping rate of 100 ms or less during working hours, regardless of the type and number of devices using your Internet connection. You must also have account privileges and access to your Internet service provider account during working hours for the purposes of maintaining the Internet connection, if needed.
  • Physical Requirements: During site assessments you may be asked to remain in a stationary period, sit, stand, bend, grab, or kneel; you should also be able to life/carry between 10-30Lbs approximately and have 20/20 corrected vision.
