About the role: As a Research Specialist, you will be responsible for tracking, analyzing, and identifying trends and videos in the user-generated content (UGC) space, across various social media and video-sharing platforms. You will collaborate with content and production teams to help curate and appraise content across different brands and clients. You will conduct comprehensive online research to gather relevant background information on original video content and its owners.
Location: Remote/Globally (based on operational & business needs)
Your day to day
Content discovery: search and identify original video content across social media platforms, websites, and video-sharing platforms like YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and others.
Research and ownership identification: investigate viable leads for clearance, by using metadata, research tools, and open-source intelligence techniques like reverse image/video search to track the source and authenticity of videos.
Content appraisal: evaluate user-generated videos for business needs & clearance opportunities.
Reporting: organize and present research findings in comprehensive reports that follow internal data integrity guidelines.
Collaboration & Communication: work with Manager and Function Lead to understand business content needs and apply to day-to-day tasks.
You Have:
Schedule Flexibility (different shifts - weekends, holidays, overnights), excellent time management skills and exceptionally detail oriented.
Research Skills: ability to conduct in-depth online research using advanced open-source search techniques, and tools like Google Reverse Image Search.
Analytical Thinking: Ability to assess the legitimacy, authenticity, and value of video content and determine potential usage or copyright risks.
Understanding of Video-Sharing Platforms: strong familiarity with the landscape of UGC, Viral Videos and social media, including platforms like YouTube, TikTok, Instagram.
Legal Awareness: basic understanding of copyright law, intellectual property rights, licensing, and fair use policies.
Attention to Detail: exceptionally detail oriented and meticulous in tracking ownership, video metadata, and licensing information.
