Overview of role:

The Senior Technical Business Analyst will be a key resource in gathering and developing requirements for projects and will provide input into the scrum methodology for delivering sprints for various products within the portfolio.  They will be a trusted senior resource within the business and technology focused teams and will help influence business and technology strategy. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of software development processes, API development, application monitoring, broad technical knowledge, and excellent communication and documentation skills.

 

Key deliverables / responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate with architects, product owners, developers, QA, and business stakeholders to define and document technical and functional requirements.
  • Translate business needs into detailed user stories, use cases, and workflows that developers can implement.
  • Work closely with development teams to ensure requirements are well understood and technically feasible.
  • Support and participate in API design and development, including documenting endpoints and facilitating endpoint testing and integrations.
  • Analyze business and technology processes to understand areas of improvement / efficiency.
  • Contribute to the definition of application monitoring and alerting requirements.
  • Contribute to the product roadmaps in conjunction with the Product Owner / Manager.
  • Participate in scrum process by assessing functionality delivered in sprints, development of user stories, and prioritization activities.
  • Be a champion for technology within external business stakeholder groups.
  • Maintain clear and organized documentation for ongoing and completed projects.


Experience and qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant technical or business-related area
  • 6+ years in relevant technical or business facing teams
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle and agile methodologies
  • High degree of confidence while influencing stakeholders outside of their team
  • Proven track record to communicate both in business and technical fields, ability to translate between the two

 

Nice to haves:

  • Hands-on experience with validating RESTful APIs using tools like Postman and Swagger
  • Experience with application monitoring tools like Splunk
  • Experience working in hybrid environments with both on-prem and public cloud components
  • Familiarity with tools like Azure DevOps, Jira, Confluence, and Git
  • Experience creating process and flow diagrams in tools like Visio
