Job description

The Business Analytics Commercial Senior Advisor position within the Cigna Global Health Benefits (GHB) Team is an opportunity to provide leadership on our commercial analytics strategy, to support our broader Global Health Benefits commercial teams across the Americas and Europe region and deliver on analytic initiatives that seek to improve and further differentiate Cigna from our competition. Reporting to the Head of Client Management GHB but with a dotted line into our Data & Analytics organization, this position will coordinate with cross functional teams to develop and execute key deliverables for our commercial teams, clients and stakeholders within our Americas and European portfolio of existing clients. This position will blend creativity, analytical, and technical competencies, relentless problem solving, business acumen, organizational savvy and entrepreneurial agility to deliver solutions that further our ability to showcase and report on the effectiveness of our programs and offerings and drive actionable insights.

We are seeking a seasoned professional for the role who will spearhead delivering on further data integration, client analytic packages and expansion of our analytic value proposition within the market. Collaborating closely with our Data & Analytics organization, as well as other key matrix partners, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our commercial analytics strategy and delivering advanced solutions for key commercial client & broker needs. This is a growth position requiring expertise, vision, and a track record of success in driving data-driven initiatives. This role will lead and drive analytic initiatives that span the ecosystem of our organization, aiming to identify further ways to enhance our ability to report and generate insights from claims, clinical programs, digital solutions, operations and other services geared towards market facing client-analytic reporting. The Business Analytics Senior Advisor position within the Global Health Benefits Team is an opportunity to provide leadership on our analytics strategy, to support our broader commercial teams in the Americas and Europe and help enable our overall growth strategy. 

Responsibilities

  • Provides strategic leadership on complex analytics assignments/projects supporting commercial growth and client analytics management and enhancement.
  • Will own and be responsible for enhancing and building out further client analytic reporting suites inclusive of our current Client Value Add (CVA) analytics package and adhoc reporting capabilities in addition to delivering on new and innovative reporting capabilities that further enhance our value proposition within the market and better enable our commercial teams.
  • Responsible for leading and driving strategic client analytic projects, strategic tracks and other reporting initiatives focused on improving our external analytics offering to the market.
  • Will be responsible for identifying, leading and delivering on key internal analytics initiatives that support our commercial team and their ability to lead insight driven strategies, discussions and consultative recommendations with our clients and brokers.  
  • Exercises considerable creativity, foresight, and judgement in conceiving and delivering initiatives.
  • Takes projects from beginning to end by managing variable tasks, stakeholder engagement and data review with limited supervision to meet targeted timelines.
  • Partners with other analytics teams within the business unit and broader International Health (IH) organization to align, strategize, plan and execute on key deliverables.
  • Able to drive initiatives and results forward, working at times through others and influencing work to execute on key priorities and deliverables.
  • Maintains analytics skillset through an understanding of new technologies, automation techniques, and the ability to execute and apply new skills to day-to-day work.
  • Incorporates growth mindset into their work approach and sales mindset to identify key areas of focus.
  • Leads efforts to further built out supportive tools and resources that support our commercial teams in their ability to understand and deliver key insights within the client analytics suite.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Analytics, Actuarial Science, Marketing, Economics, or Finance or equivalent work experience preferred.  Post graduate degree (MBA, MSA, MSBA) strongly preferred.
  • 7 or more years Data Analytics or Business Analytics experience required.
  • Experience with Sales, Marketing, Client Management, and/or growth analytics preferred, preferably in the health insurance industry.
  • Experience in global healthcare preferred but not required.
  • Acute attention to detail.
  • Effective project management skills.
  • Proactive and thoughtful approach – an ability to anticipate needs, identify potential issues before they arise and proactively suggest improvements.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, establish working relationships, and partner/influence leaders on strategic direction.

  • Some domestic and international travel might be required from time to time.

  • Agile learner with the ability to develop and implement new processes and procedures.
  • Ability to lead and track projects to completion.
  • 5 or more years of experience in the use of relational database concepts and applications.
  • Strong virtual team interaction (adeptness in using digital collaboration such as WebEx – candidate should be comfortable participating in video conferences and virtual meetings.
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL, Tableau, Qlikview and Microsoft Excel preferred.

If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 109,500 - 182,500 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
