The Accounting Supervisor is responsible for providing financial support to its Care Centers, including the month end close process and posting of transactions and balance sheet reconciliations, to create the base level of accuracy in the care centers’ financial statements. This position also provides financial support for its assigned centers to the Corporate Accounting Team (including Centralized AP) and other internal stakeholders, and may assist with integrations and other special projects, as assigned. This position also provides training and coaching to team members and leads affiliate reporting.
Responsibilities
Responsible for all pre-close and post-close activities for the month-end closing process for multiple entities, including journal entries into QuickBooks and weekly cash activity.
Responsible for the preparation for all balance sheet reconciliations for their assigned care centers and accounts, with timely research and resolution to any reconciling items.
Responsible for understanding the care centers’ business office activities, where applicable, related to accounts payable, payroll administration and any other duties performed on-site.
Communicates with care center staff, Operational leaders, Corporate Accounting, and Finance leadership in matters related to its care centers, interacting to resolve accounting issues while providing the highest level of customer service.
Analyzes care center performance and collaborates with Operational leaders to understand variances in performance to expectations.
Performs reporting at the affiliate level, relating to revenue, payroll/benefits, fixed assets, as well as consolidated month-end reporting
Lead communications with other functional groups, providing feedback on behalf of entire accounting team
Supports the Accounting Director, as needed.
Supports department in special projects and initiatives, including preparing and gathering data for audit procedures.
Provides training and supervision support to accounting team, including issue resolution and research
Performs other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting
Five+ years' experience working as an Accountant in the healthcare field preferred
Two+ years’ experience supervising a team
Expert proficiency in QuickBooks, Excel and Microsoft Word, preferred
Strong verbal and written communications skills; communicates articulately and comprehends complex written and verbal communication
Ability to meet deadlines manage multiple projects and priorities, and maintain high performance levels in challenging or fast-paced environment.
Ability to provide excellent, client-focused service
Ability to work effectively with various departments and individuals
Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality
Experience working with Pivot Tables, Vlookup and Macros preferred.
Well organized, detail oriented with the ability to multi-task
