Product Owner

The Product Owner operates at the intersection of product, development, design, and business departments. The Product Manager owns, maintains, and prioritizes the product backlog for the scrum team(s). They share the product vision and work closely with Product Managers, Business Stakeholders, and members of the Scrum team to ensure the team delivers value aligned with business objectives and user needs. The Product Owner will work closely with Product Managers and Development team members to define/refine software requirements, plan feature delivery, and coordinate and manage releases in concert with customer and business priorities.


Essential Job Duties:
Develop an in-depth understanding of industry market conditions and trends
Work closely with the scrum team throughout the development process
Collaborate with Product Owners to prioritize features and stories with external dependencies and obtain team commitments
Serve as subject matter expert and primary contact for product functionality, product backlog, product-related issues, and release timelines and status updates
Develop and maintain an appropriately prioritized backlog of user stories and team backlogs
Define user stories and acceptance criteria to ensure definition of done aligns with user needs
Actively participate in Product Backlog refinement sessions, retrospectives, defect management, and cross-functional team release planning sessions
Collaborate with key partners across Business and Technology to identify problems and opportunities; manage stakeholder expectations
Provide status on upcoming release timelines
Develop content and lead internal training sessions in support of major product releases
Contribute to creation of wireframes and process flows for new product features and updates
Collaborate with Product Owners and contribute to the vision of the Program Backlog
Perform other job-related duties as assigned
