We are seeking a Senior Control Specialist to perform control accounting and auditing functions on various operational accounts, involving analysis, problem-solving, communication, and resolution.
Position Responsibilities:
Conduct accounting, reconciliation, and auditing for various JH Life, LTC, and Annuity accounts, ensuring all functions are performed accurately.
Analyze and investigate outstanding variances or issues to resolve discrepancies promptly and maintain the integrity of account balances.
Maintain traceability of research efforts and provide detailed monthly analysis of outstanding balances, ensuring suspense balances are within corporate standards.
Collaborate with operations staff to identify discrepancies, clear items efficiently, and prepare necessary journal entries to resolve any issues.
Perform reconciliations at required frequencies, escalate any variances and open items in suspense accounts, and address other reconciliation tasks as needed.
Maintain procedures and documentation as directed, and participate in ad-hoc projects as assigned to support overall operational efficiency.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years related work experience in accounting and the financial services
Knowledge of general accounting principles
Ability to communicate effectively and interact both verbally and in writing
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze and solve complex transactions / situations
Effective communication and writing skills
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Attention to detail and accuracy are critical in completing tasks
Ability to prioritize and work effectively in a deadline-oriented environment
Ability to learn new technologies and tools quickly and work effectively in a changing environment
Ability to maintain accounting procedures and documentation
Preferred Qualifications:
College/University graduate preferably major in Accounting, CPA
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Comprehensive product knowledge
Experience working with or within Insurance Operations

Salary range is expected to be between
