Job description

Senior Technical Product Manager (Tech Transformation)

๐Ÿ“ Location: Europe-based (Travel to client offices in the UK may be occasionally required)
๐Ÿ•’ Full-Time | Senior Role
๐ŸŽฎ Industry: Gaming | Technology Modernisation | Cloud & Microservices

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Technical Product Manager / Product Owner to play a pivotal role in a large-scale technology transformation program for a major gaming company. This is a long-term, high-impact initiative aimed at modernising core platforms, improving scalability, and enabling future growth.

In this role, you will be responsible for defining the strategic priorities for modernisation, ensuring that technology and business objectives are fully aligned. You will provide direction, structure, and focusโ€”helping the engineering teams prioritise key initiatives, assess trade-offs, and deliver measurable impact.

This is a highly technical product leadership role that requires someone who can balance technical complexity with strategic decision-making, ensuring that modernisation efforts not only reduce technical debt but also create tangible business value.

Key Responsibilities

๐Ÿ”น Technology Strategy & Roadmap Definition

  • Define and drive the vision, priorities, and sequencing of modernisation efforts.
  • Align technical decisions with broader business, product, and commercial objectives.
  • Ensure modernisation efforts lead to scalability, flexibility, and efficiency improvements.

๐Ÿ”น Product Leadership & Execution

  • Translate high-level transformation goals into structured, actionable roadmaps.
  • Work closely with engineering and product teams to balance quick wins with long-term impact.
  • Define key success metrics to measure progress and value creation.

๐Ÿ”น Stakeholder Management & Communication

  • Act as a bridge between technology teams and senior leadership (CTO, VPs of Engineering, Product, and Growth).
  • Provide clarity and direction to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ensure alignment across multiple teams, functions, and decision-makers.

What Weโ€™re Looking For

โœ…Strategic Thinker: You can distil complex technical challenges into clear, high-level priorities.
โœ…Technical Acumen: You understand architecture, scalability, and platform modernisation at a deep enough level to lead conversations with engineers.
โœ…Business-Driven Approach: You are commercially aware and can articulate the business impact of technical decisions.
โœ…Strong Stakeholder Management: You can confidently work with C-level executives, product teams, and engineering leadership to align priorities.
โœ…Results-Oriented: You focus on outcomes, ensuring modernisation efforts translate into measurable impact.

Technical Areas of Value

While this is a strategic role, a strong technical foundation will be highly valuable. Experience with the following will be beneficial:

โœ…Game Engines & Clients: Unity or other game engines.
โœ…Databases: MongoDB, PostgreSQL, or other NoSQL/relational DBs.
โœ…Containerisation & Cloud: Kubernetes (EKS), Docker, and cloud platforms (GCP and AWS).
โœ… Architecture: Experience with scalable distributed systems, microservices, and REST API-driven architectures.
โœ… DevOps & CI/CD: Understanding of infrastructure automation and deployment pipelines.
